Small Closet Grow Setup

  1. Alright guys i would like to thank you all for the help in advance.
Ive been lurking this forum for so long i cant remember and always see great results. Anyways lets dive into this. So essentially i have a 2.5x5ft closet that has a two space bucket set up on the floor . Now i have decided to further my cultivation. Its addicting lol. So my plan was to buy a couple 2.5x2.5ft plywood squares and a few 2x4in planks and create a platform about 4 feet from the ground.(make a structured base by drilling 2x4's into the studs then lay the plywood on top and drilling to connect them). So in theory i would have double the growing room. I wouldn't worry about the space buckets getting to high because of lst and would have enough room on top to do at least an 8 plant SOG. I understand a mother plant is necessary as well. The space buckets may or may not be suitable for this but im sure i could figure it out. So im asking is it a plausible idea to suspend a second floor to my grow closet and create a nice Sog with the mother plants growing on the level below. I have a decent amount of knowledge about lighting and ventilation thus far but what would you recommend for the space (about 4 feet high btw) would a 600w hps be suitable for all 8 plants? And will the passive intake of the crack under the door be enough for co2 intake if i have plenty of air moving around inside? Sorry for all the questions and lack of pictures but i think i explained my point fairly well. Eager to hear back from you guys. Thanks. image.jpg (the space bucket set up.And the room opens up a bit.) PS im growing in a FFOF mix.

  2. Well i didnt think it could be done. I finally have fonished the major steps of my build. I have a plywood platform dividing my closet vertically. With a 600w hps hortilux build flowering on top with veg going on underneath. All i have to set up is ventalation. I will most likley be venting to the next room and would greatly appreciate some sugesstions on quiet extraction fans.(difficulty posting pics)

  3. And one of my little girls started showing signs of excess nitrogen which i found to be weird because she is only 2 weeks old and i have not been adding any nutes and have been growing in a 40% dilluted fox farms mix. I let it be for a few days due to its adolecenese but couldnt stand to watch her slowly waste away. so today i did a transplant out of the pot and added a good amount of peatmoss and pearlite to the soil than replanted the girl(on 4th set of leaves) came back and it looked worse. I know it causes stress so will she bounce back or die from the shock? Would love some responses.

  4. Post a picture of the girl dude. Does she still have the cotyledons?

  5. image.jpg alright there she is about a week ago. Sorry i will take another picture when i get back from work. She looks fairly healthy here yet you can see the start of the yellowing and crisping tips. image.jpg . I let it sit for a few days thinking it would just adjust to its enviorment. Shes about 3 weeks old at this point and ill be sure to post a pic later today around 4. she was on her 4th set of leaves but growth started being severly stunted and the bottom leaves are fully dead. The rest of the leaves have begun yellowing and just recently turning in on themselves( folding up like a reverse blossoming flower). I think these extreme effects are partly a result of the noobish attempt of transplanting into an even more dilluted soil.(took plant out dilluted soil with about 20%more peatmoss and 10% pearlite replanted in same pot which is a 5 gallon (i know another mistake)). But im worried about the future of my plants if i cant figure out what is destroying my current baby. Shes a greenhouse super lemon haze and i dont want to keep losing expensive seeds. I wanted to start woth this small grow before i start my 600hps grow image.jpg image.jpg . Still alot of work to be done on the grow closet.i am glad im not losing 6 seeds instead of one. Anyway expect some more pics later today showing the current state of my little plant(what i tried to describe earlier). I would love some advice because i should have my big grow up and running in a few days. Thanks for the help guys.

  6. Alright guys there she is in all her shriveled glory. I havent watered in about 3 days in a flounder to diagnose the problem i dont know if these are signs of overwatering (which i know is a very common noobish mistake). Im ready to accept her as a lost cause at this point but it is killing me that i cant figure out what is wrong with her. Keep in mind i was watering everyday the first couple weeks after germ(possible cause) but i thoufht this was necessary for a seedling. I also didnt use a humidity dome(possible cause) and i cant belive its nute burn because i diluted my FFOF 40% with peat moss and perlite. At this point i just want to find out what i did to her to prevent it from happening from my real grow ( these space boxes were ment to work out te kinks) and if she can still be saved i would love to. Thanks for the help. image.jpg

  7. Alright heres a sketch of my setup im about to finish. Off to get my inline 6 right now. image.jpg . So heres my plan ill be planting 4 thc bomb indicas and 3 dark devils under my 600w hps. In 2 months i should have the dark devil auto harvest with atleast 2 good thc bomb mothers which ill move down to the veg half. Take clones of those root them next to the mothers under a 400w or led. Than throw them up top for a Sog setup under the 600w all while 2 space buckets are running for experimentation purposes. Thoughts, critiques?

  8. Dude its nute burn ....plain and simple and that comes from a grower with over 20 years experience, your recipe is a disaster, forget the moss as it will screw with any attempt of the 'soil' to correct the Ph, and it always holds a shitfull of water, that even now indicates overwatering ... see the plants think and very pronounced veins in the leaves they are swollen ...thats over watering, the yellow and blotches on the leaves is nut burn ...of to a great start would mean
continue with the FFOF remove or replace the moss and use 30-50% perlite, as perlite drains well, avoids compaction, and dilutes that effect of that 'hit' FFOF soil
meantime extract of much of that plant from that mix wash the root in air temp. water and place like recommended in a mix od 50/50 FFOF and perlite

  9. That my friend was nothing short of a perfect answer. You have no idea how much ive been looking for that andwer. You deserve a medal my man lol.

  10. And also would you recommend the 50% perlite ffof mix from seed aswell. Thanks man youve been a great help thus far.
