Giving It A Shot

  1. Hello my friends. After reading many posts/threads here. Watching YouTube videos and reading the Cannibus grow Bible. I decided to give it a shot. I currently have Speedy Gonzalez from Kannada seeds and Onyx from Short Stuff attempting to grow. Here is a pic of my setup.

  2. One of the first things i realized after reading here. Was that my light and plants are to far away from each other. I am currently in week 2 since my seeds sprouted.the first 2 pics are of Speedy. The other 2 are of the Onyx. I am experiencing what I think you all are referring to as streching. You can see by measuring tape the growth so far....from what I have read I need to lower my lights. How close should I love them to my babies?

  3. My first attempt at growing Kannabias Speedy Gonzalez went horribly wrong. I had assumed that what had sprouted from seed casing was reaching for the sun. So when I transplanted from paper towel to rock wool I planted it upside down. The last picture next to measuring tape is from week 3

  4. I have the same trouble with rockwool. I have better luck planting in a small cup of soil then washing roots off to put into a hydro system.

  5. So what about my lighting issue Snoopdog6502? How close should I move my light to my plants at this stage?

Id do the lights 18-24 inches if its a 1,000w. Thats safe.

I have had seedlings less then a week old 12 inches under a 1,000w in the winter in my cold ass basement. Man they did grow up fast, had to get the lights moved up on a regular basis.

Oh and ditch the fucking pink HPS and run a MH for veg. It kicks the shit out of HPS for veging.

  7. My bad should've said what I was using for lighting. I'm running a 600w Hortilux @ 18/6. I feel 600w is good enough. I don't plan to grow more than 1at a time and will more than likely only be growing small auto's yielding an ounce give or take because it's only for my own personal.

  8. I'm not really a fan of the Speedy Gonzalez Strain right now...The first seed I messed up but the second isn't doing so well either when compare to the Short Stuff Onyx that i started at the same time. I will post more pics of Speedy later on today. I am interested to see how it works for you though. Thanks for the compliment on my setup. I will be using Cyco nutrients. What nutrients are you using?

  9. I'm running gen hydro maxiveg and maxibloom. I use dry koolbloom towards the end. I've also just started adding clonex to my seed starter and seedlings.

I just finished putting her in some paper towels and Tupperware.

I don't have a seedling mat yet but my cable modem has helped sprout the last 2 seeds in less than 24 hours. I hope this one does that too.

  10.
Best to grow 4 at least. One get sick and die and you are back at square 1. that's a lot of investment, mostly the time to bank on one good plant.

  11. I had considered this but my space is small (as pictured at beginning of thread) and even if only 2 went full cycle (seed to harvest) I don't believe there's enough room in my tent for that. At what point should I plant these autos into final resting place? Meaning my bubble bucket. The Onyx has roots about 3 inches long. The speedy doesnt. Also I think I stated earlier that I am using Cyco nutrients. When should I start using them?

  14. I have a 5 gallon tote with 4 full grown autos in it that would fit in there. It can be done easy. You dont want light hitting the floor anyway.

Ill get a picture of one of my 5 gallon tubs.

  15. As you all can see...I have some sort of issue going on with the Speedy Gonzalez. Any thought, suggestions, helpful hints are always greatly appreciated. I tired of buying and really want to produce my own and I am positive I won't be successful without you all help. Please and Thank you

  16. Really?!?! My seed packaging says they get at least 4 ft tall (converted from cm) there's barely that much room from top of my bubble bucket to bottom of light if the light is pulled all the way to top of tent.

  17. Light lowered to 18 inches from plants.....AND....Onyx roots. On my wakeup daily check Humidity @ 35%...High Temp 81...Low Temp 64

My bubble bucket. Can't wait to get something growing in it

  19. Ok...so I went searching through forums again looking for helpful tips etc. I don't know how I hadn't seen his thread before but I stumbled onto Chief Rocka's thread all about his experience growing Onyx.

    http://forum.grasscity.com/smoke-reports/1068050-short-stuff-onyx-detailed-grow-smoke-review-loads-pics.html

it helped a lot because I realized my Onyx is way behind growth wise compared to his. To much vertical growth which i suspected. So.....here is my question should i go ahead and plant it in Bubbler and start it on 1/4 strength nutes in an attempt to get mine back on track so to speak?
