What Bong Height/size Do You Prefer?

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by BurnAFewDown, Apr 14, 2014.

  1. So through my years of smoking I can't really find a general size of bong that ppl prefer, answers always vary. What do you guys prefer? 8 in, 12 in, 18 in, 24 in, other? Also what shape you prefer? Breaker, straight tube, other?

For daily smoking I've found that my favorite is an 18 inch straight tube. Any more is too much for regular use. 12 inch works too but prefer 18. And breakers can be a little much at times. I liked my 18 in breaker, but preferred my roommate's 18 in straight tube.

    What do you guys prefer?

  2. The ideal bong for me would be an 18 inch beaker bottom or straight tube with a glass on glass diffused downstem and a single perculator with an ice catcher.

My bong is a glass on glass 18 inch beaker bong w/ a diffused downstem and ice catchers. Its perfectly suited for me height-wise, and I dig the beaker bottom because, well it looks cool, but mostly so I can't knock it over

And that's essentially what I prefer. My old bong had too many perculators so it was a lot harder to clean then this one as well  :smoking:

18 inch borosylicate beaker bottom medical glass with a slight inward bend and rounded lip...plain jane. Nice bowl with a filter cuz I'm all about the flowers (not the ash)

  5. I like the 35cm beaker. I find much larger than that and you don't have as much breath to clear it after taking a decent toke. I had a Goliath 4 foot beaker at one time, only was used a few times as you could not get a thick smoke and clear it at once, too much empty volume. I would like to try a 45cm next, I think it would work well as well.

  6. I do like the breakers for the extra weight and better stability. I feel as though they chug a bit more though. They are great for big hits but slow to clear. That's why I prefer straight tubes cuz its more of an instantaneous hit and doesn't need as much lung to clear, but hell I still like both a lot.

I had a 6 foot bong and that shit was amazing! No one could milk and clear it except my friends who always used it haha. But I sold it due to it having a few cracks and all and it being a waste of weed: but now I use a 18.5inch bong with a 19mm diameter downstem and a 19mm diameter 11 arm perc.. Mine also has an ice catcher and carb hole. It's slightly slanted at the bottom but has a nice thick pice of glass used for stability when I set it down the bowl and place you put your mouth in are crowned which is really cool and it's rasta color! Im all about rasta colors XD I got rasta sunglasses, a rasta long board, now a bong with some rasta color on it XD lol

  9. Damn a 6 footer GonG? One of buddies had a 6 foot acrylic bong, looked ugly but it hit good. First time I hit it I was a with the owner and some of his friends that used it regularly, and half of them had to take 2 breaths to clear it. They kept telling me use two breaths to clear it. I said fuck that and milked it to the top and cleared it all in one hit. Left them in awe haha. Biggest glass on glass I've had was 3.5 feet. It was a "house" piece so had no real owner. Could easily clear that one breath but alota ppl couldn't.

  10. haha yeah it was awesome we had a rasa hat we put taped on the bong and we called it shaggy since it was green haha... And yeah when I threw parties all the girls wanted to hit it but were like "my lungs can't do this" so me as my friends always had to take the hit and milk It so other people could hit the bong(took them 4 hits to clear it or more) I loved that and it was plastic too but I wana get a glass 6 footer but idt there's a such thing haha. And people couldn't clear a 3.5 foot bong? That's funny. I think the tallest glass bong I smoked was like 3-4 ft I'm not sure but that shit made me lay down after I milked it hahaha

Ash catcher and Sherlock stem. Best dab rig I've ever used

  13. When I smoked flower, I preferred my stemless 18 inch straight tube with three honeycomb percs.
When I dabbed, I preferred a smaller piece with less diffusion, such as a 10 to 12 incher straight tube.
When I hooked up my vape to a bong, I preferred a similar setup to the dabbing rig.

I smoke on 1/5. I was always taught to reduce fractions.

  14. I always prefer beaker bottoms with ice pinches. Anywhere from 12 to 24+ inches. Its what I started smoking with and will always enjoy.

  15. The bong I have now is just a crappy tobacco shop on that looks like a vase, it's about 12" tall.

My ideal bong though would be about 15" beaker bottom single perk with ice pinches. Would also need a custom bowl piece.

  16. Between 3 and 4ft seems to be my sweet spot.

I want one of those 6ft acrylic ones though

    Depends what I am smoking...

    Wax anything under 12 inches.

Bud or hash any size. 4 inches or 3 foot doesn't matter.

  18. I prefer smaller bongs. Under 10 inches is ideal. I've ripped from really tall bongs and although they work great I'm not a fan of how much work goes into clearing a larger bong

I break it down into 2 categories.
There's table top and non table top.
Table tops are generally pieces bigger than about 15", and have complex, sometimes multiple, percs. With these pieces, its not only hard to hit in a relaxed posistion, let's say in a chair or recliner, but if the piece isn't perfectly sitting straight up, the perc won't perform as well as it can. These pieces are good for massive hits.
Then non table tops are generally less than 15" and have less complex percs that arent so dependant on proper form, and can be hit with more ease. Like straight tubes or beakers or bubbler style bongs.
I find both have their place. I like the table tops for gettin wasted, tho its not as easy to pass around and hit while relaxing. And I like non table tops for further medication, so I don't have to get up lol. Its also easier to pass around and gives you more flavor.
My prefered height for flower would be somewhere between 12 and 18", cause any more than that its hard to hit sitting down. Over time I'm finding I prefer smaller tubes as long as they still perform well. For concentrates I like something smaller than 10".

18 in is perfect height imo.
My daily driver is an 18 in straight tube with 18.8mm joints throw my diffuser in it & it will murder haven't hit another tube that I've liked better never been big on percs tho adds to much drag for what they do in my opinion.

    Who Dat!
