So I had never tried a vaporizer before and I had like $50 spare and thought what the hell, im gonna buy a cheap vape pen and give it a try. So I went to the closest place that sells that sort of stuff, and got a Vape Pen for smoking "Dry Herbs" for $40. At the time I didnt really think about it, but here are my problems: It gets heated up by a butane jet lighter, which means that the entire vape pen can get rediculously hot when in use, including the lighter part itself. Is that safe? like, can the lighter explode from too much heat and blow off my hand? And also is all the butane being burnt off by the flame, or is some of it going straight up into the mouthpiece, causing me to inhale butane whenever I go for a hit? Another thing, how do I know its ready to hit? I notice after I heat it up for 30 seconds or so there is what looks like tiny drops of water on the inside of the glass mouthpiece, and when I breathe in through the mouth piece it all dissapears, is that what is meant to happen, or am I doing it wrong? I definately get high from it, no doubt about that, but I guess I mainly just wanna know im doing it right One last thing, how much would be a good amount to pack in this pen? I generally pack the cap thing loosely but fill it to the top, should it be packed light or packed in hard? Thanks in advance for the advice guys
Lol I bought one of those about 2month ago in a vape shop It was £14 probably works out same in dollars. I got 5 hits from it. Then it fucked up. The residue I'm going to call it ash cause that's what it does to the weed. Anyway it falls through the mesh onto the gas feeder, which blocks it and either makes it misfire , or on my case stop working altogether. Hope you get a bit more time out if it than I did mate
Yeah it works out to about the same price. In the second pic I posted there is a small clear glass cap, and thats where you put the weed in which stops it from falling through the mesh, and actually lets it get vaped instead of combusting. Its not the best thing ever, but now that I have tried vaped weed and I know that I do like it, im going to get an electric non portable vape on my next pay day. Im hoping to just vape once I get a good vapourizer, I have a love for Bongs, but they arent exactly the best thing for your lungs, even if you use Hemp Wick like I do.
Actually another quick question, would you suck through while heating it up with the gas, or wait until after you stop using the lighter? cause I tried taking a hit while heating it up and it got me way more wrecked and there was a lot more vapour, but then I was wondering if it was just butane i was inhaling and getting high off or if it was the weed and I had been doing it wrong previously. It did taste less like weed the when I tried it that way, but there wasnt a taste of gas or anything...
I didn't get any glass with mine I did the way you described. Hit it as the butane is still burning, It didn't work the other way for me. Yea if upgrade mate first chance you get. Thing is the best of vapours you need to shell out a few quid, those cheap ones ate a waste of money IMO better putting the cash aside till you have the funds to get a proper vapour. I'm sure you will be sorted out pretty soon mate
Thanks for the response man, im definately going to upgrade as soon as I can. I mostly just wanted to try out Vaping cause bongs are the only thing I have really used up til now, I have tried pipes and joints before, but they just werent as satisfying, and i find that im actually liking vaping =D And yeh when I was looking around online for advice about them, it seemed as though everyone else who got one didnt get a glass cap or anything, guess I just got lucky =D
