Hi I just finished harvesting my 3rd run. This one has been the worst so far. This is why I decided to open a discussion on what I think was done wrong or at least what was done different this time that could be a cause for dissapointment. I grow Louie 13 in Coco and not the most expensive kind. This was the first thing that changed. I normally go with Peat Moss (Sunshine mix 4). Because I was growing in coco, I found myself adding Epsom salt with every feeding. Something I have never done before. I tried using Bud Blood for the first time. I my opinion the product works. It gave me a lot of buds but I don't think I got the density and the fullness of the individual top colas as I normally would. The actual end result in quantity was very good. I collected over 1 1/2 lb per light. But the quality just wasn't there. First, the smell. I cut the plants and hanged them upside down in the room that was not cool enough. It was close to 90 for those few days it was drying. We started manicuring them on day 3 Smell did came back after curing but not even half at what Louie 13 should smell like. The Louie bud as a strain can be very green when all is done. Mine had brown hairs and brown areas all over it. I will post pictures tomorrow But in the meantime and to have this started: Does anyone knows what exactly causes bright green bud to start having brown hairs that turn the buds more brownish with only green patches in different places. Does anyone know why I do not ever have the chrystal, sugar like cover on mine Thank you
Need some pics to really help you out .. Drying plants fast is a sure way to end up with a disappointing end product. Try keeping them in a humidity controlled environment at 60% then jar em up Did you use a ripener to finish off your plants ? Did you check trics to make sure plant was ready ? check out my journal http://forum.grasscity.com/hydroponic-grow-journals/1287120-rapos-2400w-dwc-sealed-room.html
I used shooting powder towards the end. Nothing else. It was exactly 8 weeks. I understand it is not on the clock but 75 percent of trichs were milky. I did not see any at all though. But I agree this May be possibility. Could it be anything else?
I think it's probably your dry and cure process .. without pics im shooting from the hip check out my journal http://forum.grasscity.com/hydroponic-grow-journals/1287120-rapos-2400w-dwc-sealed-room.html
I personally think that the drying was my weakest link. The room was not fully dark, the AC went out and it was 90+ in the room. At some point the humidity went to 0 but I was able to get it up to 30 quickly. I had problems with humidity last time but the room was nice and cool. 78 all the way through.
Damn brother, that sucks. Just looking at the pics of the two buds they look pretty dense. But obviously I can't really tell without touching them. Worries me about my harvest I've got coming up in about a week. The RH is pretty low in my house as is. Probably around 35% in the room where I grow. I think I'm going to keep my girl as intact as possible and hang it pretty much whole with all the sugar leaves to slow the drying process.
I have found that dry too fast and bugs both take the fragrance out of dried buds. Thrips, Mites, Whitefly, Aphids, suck the life out of the plants. Also did you do any foliar? I have sprayed azamax before and had white hairs turn red overnight at 1-month of flower. When you say the worst run so far makes me think of bugs. Good luck with round 4
