Our governor and republican dominant congress won't let this pass sadly. Just look at what happened last time MMJ was introduced to the house; it was shot down because of "overwhelming public opinion" and the congressmen claimed that the topic was too volatile to be handled and was dismissed before a vote could be taken. This state is going downhill fast and I really want to escape. Budget cuts to education, small businesses being pushed out of business, denying Obamacare (I fucking need that, I can't afford healthcare right now), and ignoring every progressive step we have taken here in Asheville towards equality and promoting local businesses.
I know what you mean. I live in Lenoir, when amendment one was on the ballet, 90% of registered voters turned out to vote for it. This state is beggining to really piss me off. Yeah it is a tough decision because here in Asheville there is an amazing culture that you can't find anywhere else except for places like Portland or San Francisco. The problem is that the state hates everything we do here and they are showing the city no mercy by ignoring our interests; we recently lost the right to govern our own water supply. Once I am done with college I am going out west or even Canada haha.

I want to be involved with Norml but I have very limited time because of full time college haha. But yeah there is a great music scene around Asheville. I play in a metal band and we have been doing rather well in the area despite the small, but growing, metal scene here. Overall I find the culture of Western NC to be very dull with the exception of Asheville. Everywhere around Ashevillle is absolutely wretched and despite the geographic beauty of the mountains, most of WNC is a shit hole full of bigots, cops, and weed that costs too much.

Nice haha. Asheville isn't too bad with the usual being $15 a gram, $50 an eighth, and $100 a quarter, and sometimes less. However, in the nearby town that I grew up in the price, with virtually no exceptions, is $20 a gram, $60 an eighth, and $120 a quarter
