You do realize that section 8 is talking about the powers of Congress right? And it really means that Congress can pretty much take any 10 square miles of land they want and make it the capital and the state can't do shit about it. It also means they have power over any and all federal buildings no matter what state their in. This clause really has nothing to do with this all anyway, since Congress has the power to do whatever it wants to and they exercised that and created the BLM and it's predecessors. All the way back to the Land Ordinance of 1785.. which is before any Mormon settlers arrived in Nevada the 1850's.

Look at it this way, with as ridiculous as you/him think it is that he has to pay those fees to the BLM, I think it's just as ridiculous that he doesn't just pay those fees to the proper government if he is actually willing to pay. He knows damn well he can't pay them, so it's easy to say you'd try. Imagine how it'd hold up in court when you get busted for not paying a speeding ticket and your response was "well I tried to pay the cop and I would pay the cop now if I could, but the court isn't getting my money cause they didn't pull me over.." You'd look like a stubborn dumbass. Like it or not, the BLM is the proper government to pay since it's federal land. I have no problem with the federal government owning land, it's really no different that any state or local government owning land to me.

That's the thing, it's not his property.. How is this confusing? It's public land that's under federal jurisdiction. That laws that give federal control over them have been in the works since before we even took that area from Mexico.. but what's funny how you create hypotheticals like they mean something. Many countries have it so their government (on most levels) can take land, even private property, whenever they want. The county, the state, and the federal government can take your land if they want so long as what they do with it is for public use and you're compensated.. and Gold Butte is public land regardless of what government owns it. Speaking of hypothetical scenarios, I would wager money that if the level of government was switched and Clark County issued the conservation and fees associated with being able to use that land, the stubborn old fuck would do the same exact thing he did to the BLM. Only this time he'd be saying "My ancestors settled this land, they got it from the federal (or state) government.. I don't recognize the county's claim of ownership." Same thing if this was a decision at the state level, he'd fail to recognize the state since it was his ancestors, but would be "willing" to pay a different government. Like I said, it's easy to say you'd do something (that you don't want to do) when you really know you can't do it.

Fox News got "singled out" because they were the only news outlet that supported Bundy and sang his praises as a Patriot even though the man was clearly anti American. He does not recognize the U.S. Government and called for armed insurrection. Sedition. He and his racist group surrounded the BLM officers armed and ready to take lives. They had snipers trained on the officers. The man refused to pay decades worth of fees for federal land use and lost law suit after law suit and still refused to pay what he rightfully owed. This was well known and well documented and completely ignored by Fox News and Sean Hannity. Hannity and Fox continued to fan the flames until Bundy opened his mouth and shit spewed out. Then the cockroaches scurried for cover when the lights came on and Bundy's true agenda was illuminated. . Only Fox News supported this fuckwad. No one did any research on the guy. Hannity even went so far as to pledge his support by showing up on the "front lines". Meanwhile, news outlets like MSNC were quite aware of where his rhetoric originated and reported accordingly.
