http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/monkey-cage/wp/2014/04/07/the-less-americans-know-about-ukraines-location-the-more-they-want-u-s-to-intervene/ uff da.
There's a great "map of the world according to americans" floating around the on internet somewhere. It's hilarious. It's sad enough that only 15% of Americans can find Ukraine on a map... but Alaska? Jesus christ.
Why not do a poll of the Ukrainians, see how well they do at finding a somewhat non-mainstream country on a map? Their leaders have a Parliament which regularly features fist fights, smoke bombs, and egg throwing, among the members. They also had the worst nuclear accident in history. They are definitely among the stupidist people in the world.
I agree, but Ukraine is not the only one that endured it, perhaps it was worse on average for them - but people have survived worse without going full throttle retard.
It's ironic that Americans are being made out to be stupid, at the very same time people from all over would give anything to come to the United States. Who the fuck in their right mind would want to move to the Ukraine?
Americans want their government to take action upon a matter they know nothing about? What else is new?
A simple question would have sufficed: Should we risk war with Russia over Crimea? I would guess that the answer would be overwhelmingly, "No".
