  1. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2014/04/07/rand-pauls-unwelcome-2009-accusations-about-dick-cheney/Paul claims Vice President Dick Cheney's association with Halliburton was the motivation for the Iraq war:“He's being interviewed (in 1995), I think, by the American Enterprise Institute, and he says it would be a disaster, it would be vastly expensive, it would be civil war, we'd have no exit strategy. He goes on and on for five minutes - Dick Cheney saying it would be a bad idea,” Paul said. “And that's why the first Bush didn't go into Baghdad. Dick Cheney then goes to work for Halliburton. Makes hundreds of millions of dollars - their CEO. Next thing you know, he's back in government, it's a good idea to go into Iraq.”Paul also said the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks were used as a pretext for the invasion.

  2. Not surprising at all. The Bush/Obama administration (yes, meant to convey that they are one and the same) are nothing more than war mongering parasites looking for any excuse to murder for profit.
Find out how to profit from a war and then deliberately pick that fight while devising a way to make sure it never ends.

  3. None of that is news.  I live in my liberal bubble, so I guess I just assume that nearly everyone already knows that stuff.

  4. That's right, liberals are shocked.  Not.

  5. Just look at Obama almost 8 years ago vs today.

Sure you meant to, still it isn't right to paint with such a broad brush. How has Obama or his buddies profited from war, especially considering Cheney's ties.

You wish it was similiar, but it certainly is not.

Wrong thread this is about Rand Paul and his statements about the Bush administration. :smoke:

  7. Sorry I guess? I was only attempting to illustrate how every administration does exactly the same things by showing how Obama criticized the Bush administration for raising the debt ceiling, then going and doing the same thing himself.

  8. Appreciate that. Just trying to keep a few threads near their topic, instead of everyone of them verring off into "let's bash Obama instead". :smoke:
