How have you changed over the years?

  1. You know, as I go about my day and interact with my fellow pot-smoking... fellows, it's strange to think about how they've changed over the years since I've known most of them for quite some time. I've seen people go from being straight-A students to flat out shitheads, and I was wondering if any of you have thought about or noticed this as well. When it comes to me, I haven't changed all that much in terms of how I interact and treat other people, but I will admit that moral values have gone down quite a bit. Until I was about 12 years old, I saw religion as a very sacred thing but abandoned it due to... well, I don't want to offend anyone here. I started smoking at 15 years old, and since then I've definitely mellowed out quite a bit, but grades and all that were/are still looked upon as a major priority. What about you guys?

  2. I feel you here, its crazy to see how people change their priorities and habits over the years. I have seen friends go from one extreme to the other. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse.
However I feel that it is easier to see change in other people versus yourself. Most of these major life changes that I observe take time to occur and dont simply happen overnight. You know you are always consumed in your thoughts and, well, with yourself so as you change certain aspects of your life you dont make too much notice of them because they take time to happen.
I bet if you asked one of your closer friends what they feel has changed they would have a lot more to say than you do about yourself.

  3. I was a drunk for 30 years. cleaned my act up and have 291 days clean and sober. Man I have my wits about me better than ever.

Im 45 but could still be a rock star or anything if I just tried.

  4. I have definitely changed over the years, but the people I have been friends with over the years have changed more. When we first got into smoking, we smoked a lot and drank here and there. Now they have progressed to harder drugs and I have been just stuck to smoking my weed and drinking through the weekend.

I stopped kicking it with most of them ever since they began to make drugs a habit and a major priority. I have recently started to hang out with different people and it is starting to reflect on my lifestyle in a positive way. I am beginning to focus a lot more on going to the gym and eating right and pursuing my goals.

Now to find a woman  :devious:

  5.
Those things make a hard core drug habit look cheap.

Just rent them, dont buy them. :D  LOL

  6. I find that people are who they are and the weed doesn't have a whole lot to do about it. Everyone changes and evolves and unfortunately not always for the better. I find that personally herb has made me an entirely more intellectual person. More eager to learn! Literature and philosophy. But in general for many other factors I find more confident as I get older and less worried about approval and appearances. More focused on acquiring happiness in any other way than material. I enjoy the smallest thing tremendously.

I've unfortunately noticed friends growing to care more about those specific things. The world in General is a darker place trying hard to keep entertain itself and pretend it's okay. I think the more you think and start to understand certain things about the paradigm we live it, the gloomier you're bound to be.

    I kinda just rambled..

  7. I've changed quite a bit over the years , some good changes and some bad. I started caring less especially about my grades. But I've also became more open minded and have a different perspective on life. Theres certain people I've started growing away from and my friendships lately have changed a little too.

  8. I'm too sexy for my shirt.

  9. When I was younger (7th grade, when I started smoking weed until I'd say about freshman year) I was a really angry and sad person, my depression was the worst it had ever been and I had really bad anger management issues. Now that I'm 20 and kind of have things figured out I've developed a more positive outlook on life and have learned to ditch the negative things in my life and focus on things that make me happy. Unfortunately all of my old friends from middle/high school are now doing hard drugs or pregnant (not shaming young mothers! I've just lost contact with most of them because of it) but I've met new people who make life really worth living and I'm really thankful for that.

I guess I just learned to chill out and take life one day at a time rather than thinking about the negative outcomes of things that could happen in my future. Damn, this really made me think about my life haha

Fuck this shit! Thank you for this thread, it made me realize how complacent i've become since getting a full time job and  the money that comes with it. Like my youthful self i still waste too much time on the internet doing nothing productive or visting the same dumb sites over and over.

Im still going to school but i strongly believe in autodidactism and i have let myself fall off in relation to studying for more than the sake of good grades and developing and honing my marketable skills.

I realized this about two weeks ago and decided not to work under someone else next year and focus on school and my own entrepreneurial ventures.

EDIT: Ill post about how i've changed over the years in another post.

I remember there was a blade here with a signature that said something like "Men do not change, they unmask themselves"

How much of it is the person changing and how much is your perspective on that person changing?

or does that quote mean those straight A students were shitheads all along?

  14. Started at age 15, at that time did poorly in school. Ditched class, and was getting grounded for many things. Once I started smoking I realized how dumb I was. I started smoking every day. Got my grades up to 3.0 or higher, got a job, and really matured. I'm slowly becoming successful and I'd like to thank weed for my life.

  15. long story short i stopped giving a fuck about most things

  16. I get better looking every day.

    Can't wait till tomorrow lol

  17. ive become a man of simplicity and practicality.

  18. Went from a nice kid to a take-no-bullshit man. Don't trust anybody. Stone Cold Steve Austin had that shit nailed (only wrestling fans would get that).

  19. I've changed a lot over the years, and I feel most of it is for the better. I'm almost 22, and when I was in my young teenage years I used to be a little thief, and would consume anything that would get me fucked up. I don't steal anymore, and only smoke/eat weed, and occasionally other things that grow naturally. I drink once in a blue moon.

Also I hardly play the guitar anymore, and I want to do more of that in the future.
