Stiff curling leaves. help

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by 420-j-a-day, Apr 8, 2014.

  1. Hey i have a problem, or i think i have, with my baby plant.

When the first true leaves were large enough to inspect i noticed purple underside on the leaves but otherwise healthy green on top. Now bout 2 weeks almost all the leaves are purple under. Stem is alsp purple'ish. I didnt worry cuz i was thinking maybe its genetics. Blue Mystic. But now i see the leaves curling down very much and they are very stiff, not dry like dead. They look very healthy still. Nice green colort ontop. No yellow no spots. What is the problem ? Any sugestions are helpful.

    Strain:blue mystic
    Medium:soil
    Water:tap water
    Light:150w hps 18/6
    1 plant
Ph is fine around 5.4-6.5 (i like variation cus i read its good)

    Thx. Peace

  2. if you are growing in soil and the pH is varying between 5.4 ~ 6.5 - your are fucked.

    start over

Thats not true. What kind of soil you running? Any pictures?

Edit: sounds kind of like overwatering

  4. Need pics. But what's your temp like? And how often are you watering?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  5.
    Yes it is true.

suggest you swing by the organics lounge and ask the boys n girls hanging out in there.

    Good luck
    :)

  6. Well...in my time over there i learned most organic growers just throw away their PH meter because in organics your soil naturally swings around, but is buffered from huge swings. Ask an organic grower about how often they test PH.

  7. LOL I grow soil and hydro and PH is checked religiously every week or two if I remember. LOL

    he is drowning his plant.

Go look in the mirror if you want to see a dumb person, and then

Please explain to us how you are going to grow weed in soil which is 5.4, oh wise one.

    pfft noobs

Edit: was going to throw in a dangling participle but decided against it.  lmao  Noobs are now mandating perfect english.  WTF, you think you are at Harvard University.  This is Grass City dewd.

Yeah I know, just because it's grasscity doesn't mean only smart people post on this forum. I was just pointing out that you are one of the dumb ones here.
You said pH 5,4~6,5, which implies that pH levels above 5,4 and below 6,5 are reason to be fucked and to have to start over.

Actually, that pH range you stated is perfect for soil cultivation. With a pH of 5,4 your soil is indeed almost too acidic for perfect growth, but not quite too acidic yet. In fact, 5,4 is often times better than 6,5 because all trace elements (except molybdenum) become better available the more the pH drops, until they become toxic.

please cite your reference for 5.4 being a perfect soil pH range.

    BTW, what's pH mean

  13. Problem was overwarering! Thankyou for the help. She is looking much better now, and i intend to keep her that way.

Regarding pH im pretty sure it should range from 5.5-6.5 in soil. Or at least close to. Well she is very heathy green looking, so i think im on the right track. Little pale on the cotyledon but that is normal i think.

Thankyou for the help again. I might throw up some pic's of my setup, if you want ideas for stealth.

    Peace
