Joint Rolling Question

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by The Fat Kid, Apr 5, 2014.

  1. Morning everyone, I have a question about rolling joints. I usually don't smoke or roll joints, I usually use my launch box or no2. But recently I've really wanted to smoke some jays so I got a pack of papers and started rolling.

I watched a bunch of tutorials and got a lot of good tips. The step I have the biggest problem with is tucking it after your done packing it, you know with like your thumbs. I always end up like folding it over when I try tucking. I also usually do it with the sides of my fingers.

They still end up pretty tight and good, I just feel like I'm doing something wrong. Does It even affect it? Does anybody else do this? Any good tips on how to not do this? Is it something that you just get good at over time?

Thanks, have a great day :smoke:

  2. Practice  :confused_2:

  3. Hello!

Try to put a little more weed on the side where you hold it with your finger before you roll (if you fill it this way)

Be sure to take your lighter and gently light the end of it before you actually light it again in your mouth. It helps it burn evenly.

    Hope this helps, good luck!

Not sure what kinda papers you have are if there a thin paper like Raw try crumpling up the paper in a ball and unraveling it so it's all creased makes it easier to work with tell all my buddies that can't roll and they say it helps

  5.
I learned how to roll by getting a pack of roll your own cigarettes and just practicing with that. Tobacco is fun to roll. If you don't smoke just toss em.  :smoke:

It's tricky for me to answer this because I've been able to roll almost from the get go. Probably don't help that I started smoking roll-ups at the age of 15 so I've always been able to roll.

Not quite sure how to explain it.

I usually use a king size silver. I refold the paper so the line is diagonal, and not straight. Hold the paper each end with your fingers. I put my roach on my left, so I refold it so that the left hand side the line starts lower down the paper, and the bottom corner of the right hand side is above the top corner of the right hand side. Jesus ... that's hard to explain! You end up with a diagonal line.

Grind the weed. Put a small amount of tobacco in. Best to use cigarette tobacco. Rolling tobacco is hard to move around unless it's dry. I assume you're using tobacco. If not ignore this bit.

Put your weed on evenly. I tend to avoid putting to much at the bottom by the roach. Gets a bit annoying burning the fingers. Put your roach in ... I do that first.

Make sure you put your tobacco/weed on the new crease, not on the straight one.

Then put a bit of the paper so it's over the roach a little. The right hand side will automatically follow if you're following the diagonal crease. Then fold it and roll. It takes some practice. Then as you roll slowly just use your right hand finger to make sure everything is nice and lined up. Lick the paper when you're about half rolled. The right hand side should start sticking first.

Start with the right hand side, and as you roll and it's sticking you're able to make it tight. You don't want a loose roll, or one that's too tight but just normal.

I really can't explain it much more. It just comes natural to me. The more you practice the easier it is.

This will give you the classic joint look also. I can do it on the straight line, but it's just natural to me to refold it. Don't ask me why lol.
