After done more searching, I did find the link on here.. So the mods can just delete this please...

I'm new here.. Did some searching around and wasn't able to find this posted yet.. So I thought I'd share this news.. I'm very new to the marijuana game but my understanding of how it has worked in Canada is, doc recommends it, you then apply to Health Canada, and if they approve, you get your card.. Well it seems that is no more as of April 1 (assuming this wasn't a April fools day prank)... Now the doc just writes the Rx now more application to Health Canada.. Of course, you do need to buy from their strict list of overpriced suppliers.. But.l it's a step in the right direction I think? Yes? No?? For those who have been in this for a long time, what are your thoughts.. As I said, I'm very new to this.. I actually haven't even smoked yet.. Been researching for a year now.. Finally came to the decision it'll help me, and am moving in the right direction..

  2. Well, considering the medical lobby has been one of the staunchest opponents to mmj, only good things and "heading in the right direction" could possibly occur. Right? I mean, buying my pot from the purveyors of all that FDA-approved side effect-riddled cocktails could only serve to help us be safer, right?

Put pressure on the docs to not write scripts in various ways and this system too will be gone in a few years' time and right into the hands of big phama. End game is high profit pharma pill cannabis. Progressive politics just takes a while to get things done. Big pharma will surely spend a few billion setting up pot grows for a short while to get their "in" to the medical realm and the increased profits.

Huff Post is liberal fodder, and the MMJ movement has been hijacked by leftist interests acting on behalf of right-sided interests. One big happy. I think Canada, your liberals are called conservatives, just to throw us all off their trail a bit.

  3. Still people are forced to buy it instead of grow it, so many problems with our system right now its ridiculous.

  4. My main question is if you have a medical licence and grow on the lo. Would the punishments be as stern as they are now for people growing without a licence???

  5. I think you need to look up the meanings of 'liberal 'conservative' 'libertarian' and 'social democrat'. Stephen Harper has more in common with Nancy Grace than Bill Maher. And economic views have nothing to do with views on cannabis - Ron Paul and Jose Mujica have probably not one shared economic view and manage to have similar weed views - it's not a left/right battle but an individual and collective freedom battle against the socially backward.

  6. A step, yes.
Hopefully a good selection of quality product at lower than current (blackmarket) prices.  Stands to reason that if they can grow without the fear of being busted, they can automate the process and reduce production cost.  And grow huge warehouses full.

Nancy Grace is a card-carrying member of the leftist media. Not sure what your point is?
Looking up the meanings of each would tell me there are differences in these political parties. There is not. That is my point. Big money controls both sides of two party politics. The rest is theatre to make you feel like you have a choice. ;o)

Uruguay is a supplier nation in the worldwide plan for big pharma cannabis. You can have puppet governments serving the U.S. ya know. Very easy to control. Jose is a socialist who will provide big pharma Ron's friends all the cannabis they can handle.

  8. Nancy Grace is on Fox News isn't she? Aka news for the Christian right. And wheres the evidence for a global big pharma only plan for weed?

  9. Oh, you mean all the reading and following this issue I have done for years now, -you want it in one nice external link to conveniently click on and take 30 seconds of your day to dismiss?

The media is leftist no matter what LABEL they bestow upon themselves. They need a straight man in all of this, and Fox is one such stiff.

  10. I think I recently read an article that said doctors are not happy. Health Canada is asking them to write recommendations for a drug that Health Canada will not recognize as having medical benefits. I believe the doctors said they want there to be more well documented research done before they start handing out recommendations left and right. Obviously this does not mean all doctors, but the article led me to believe it was the majorities opinion.

I do not know about the quality of weed the government is producing, the few medical patients I know are choked that they won't be able to grow much longer.

  11. Well I'm studying a degree in Politics and International Relations. I have also studies politics from 16-18. I have to use peer reviewed academic sources for definitions. So please tell me which sources are going to tell me that fox news is anti capitalist.

  12. So can 1 go to a doctor that hands out pills like candy and get a rec for say ADD, depression, or anxiety. Or would I have to have a serious back history with like insurance paperwork or something that shows my back is fucked up?

It sounds like it will depend on the doctor, but most doctors will be difficult and require plenty of paper work.

Interesting that there are two pharmaceutical cannabinoids available, although why the hell are they making a pill that mimics THC, curious to know how they do that.

Basically it sounds like doctors are worried that under the new system, because they hold all the power, there will be patients abusing the system. It sounds like doctors in Canada do not see enough evidence to prescribe marijuana for "back or neck pain." I have not read anything though saying the government will be checking who doctors are writing prescriptions for. I am sure there are some more open minded doctors in most Canadian cities. Once you get your prescription, the doctor has to send it to a licensed producer, such as this Saskatchewan company.

Could anyone that knows THC numbers better than I comment on the quality of this no name government grown marihuana.

  15. I just got my prescription a few days ago for chronic mechanical back pain. If you can find a doctor who is open minded, and have medical documents showing you actually have something that marijuana helps with, then you can get a prescription.

My medical documents show I have ADD and that I've been prescribed pills for depression would that help? Congrats on getting your prescription by the way.

This is awesome! I am very curious to know how what the quality of medicine is, and do you know which producer you will be getting weed from? Did you have a choice of producers?

  18. Taking away our right to grow and replacing it with only buying from big corporations isn't a step in the right direction in my book.  Far from it.

  19. Their are about 10-12 licensed producers as of now, and you are allowed to choose from 1 of them. I have chosen Delta 9, based In Winnipeg, for their strain selection... They are growing products from Green House Seeds, Serious Seeds, and a few of their own proprietary strains. I will post a thread showcasing the products once I have access to them, Delta 9 starts shipping in May. For now I am getting my medicine from my local dispensary, which has amazing quality products, at fair prices.

Here's a link to my thread of dispensary pickups so far.

  20. With the MMAR injunction, does that mean the dispensary can continue to operate for the time being? And if so will you still pick up from there or just the delivery service?
