What's up GC, I've been having a debate with my friends about how long you can veg a plant before flipping the switch to 12/12. Outdoor plants are on a longer veg cycle so they could go 8-12 weeks of veg time, whereas indoors we usually set the veg time for the space available. Could you grow one plant and let it veg out to fill in a large area? I usually have a 4 plant scrog that works well but just for something different I want to see what I could do with one large plant after LSTing and topping it to fill out the space. I have a 4x4 grow area under 600watts, organic grow and the strain is purple wreck. Any thoughts?
I've heard of 6 month veg times indoors with one plant. I think it's kind of a waste since you can do almost TWO cycles in that time frame with smaller plants/less veg time.
It's not about the almighty harvest every time. I grow more than I need, so during my "down time" I like to try out different strains or ways of growing in order to learn as much as I can. I don't grow mad amounts to sell, I grow small high quality gardens to put a smile on my face.
Veg forever if you want to, just have fun with it. Look at outdoor scrogs, they're HUGE! Like 6 feet across per plant! Check out subcool420 on YouTube a video called weeden part 4. You could do that indoors if you tried.
I normally veg for 3-4 weeks depending on the strength of the plant, only because I'm an indoor grower with little space and want a faster yield Its really dependent on how much room you have, how big of a plant you want to manage, and if you can manage properly
Haven't tried it yet but I think I will go a 5 week veg...72 liter bucket...sitting on wheels...peat-based soilless mix. Got time to roll the little lady outdoor/indoor to save peak time watts
I veg for scrog. Once it has filled out nicely I flip them. The screen is 18 inches from the bucket Sent from my Nexus 7 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
clones can be put into flower as soon as they start to grow, as they come from a mature plant. seedlings need to be vegged untill they are mature.
