    Hello fellow blades!

I'm not quite sure if anything has been posted about this cleaner before but I picked it up at my
local head shop on a whim because I was cleaning my glass pieces the hard way before. Anyways my favorite piece was all nasty so I decided to clean it and give this new cleaner I bought a try. HOLY did it work amazing! You can either shake it to clean or soak it instead, I opted for the quicker solution and shook. My bowl was clean in seconds! Brand new clean!!  Same with the piece itself after. This company makes an amazing product and they've got a new customer for life! Did I mention you can re reuse the solution after cleaning for a good 3 or so times I find! Has anyone else heard of this product before?

  2. Girl at my lhs recommended it to me, I was being cheap and didn't get any but she gave me a 5 minute lesson on how awesome the stuff is.  I may have to pick some up next time I am in.  I hear its 'good' for the environment.

  3. interesting...how much was it in your respective areas? im a sucker for effeciency and cost/value.

  4. Ahh didn't even ask.  She asked me what I use to clean with I said iso/salt, since its better value/cheaper(no idea if it is) then commercial bong cleaners, like purple power.  I would have grabbed some but I already had a $500+ bill, I was looking for the door that's for sure.

  6. for me, iso/salt costs more. in my area, its $1.99 for iso, and box of kosher salt is....$1.29 i think. now, thats 32oz of iso, and a 3 lbs (i think) of salt, i can go through 2-3 bottles of iso before i finish an entire box of salt, and i cant/wont reuse it. orange 420, khronic kleaner or whatever theyre called dont seem cost effectice and, to me, is just iso, water, an abrasive, scent and coloring. and i cant seem to reuse them as much as "the big 2", grunge off and simple green.

and out of those two, simple green takes the win for me simply because its available closer to me than grunge off. $10 for a concentrated gallon that will last me at least a year, and i use it for other things than just keeping glass clean. grunge off is superior to simple green in all aspects, but i cant find it locally, and closest shop that carries it is at least 40 mins away. either that or get it shipped and again, not cost effective. im in close to the price for 2 gallons of simple green and i still gotta wait to get it shipped? and less quantity? nah, aint nobody got time for that.

to the op, how much did you pay for the purple power? 16oz?

  7. Might have to try some simple green.  You can easily reuse the iso, ya it looks nasty but you need to rinse your glass out anyways so it doesn't matter to me.  And wow you must have used a lot of salt, 3lbs bag of salt that would last me years.  I bought a bag in Nov/13(5-6 months ago)  I have used maybe 1/4 of the bag so far.

  8. well 2 out of my 3 daily drivers are beakers so they would use a lot of salt, plus im kinda ocd when it comes to cleaning so twice shaken is not uncommon with me haha.

  9. I like orange chronic its not cost effective but I'm lazy and its the quickest easiest least messy way to clean. Purple power doesn't work that great for me cuz my bongs have lots of percs and I need that abrasive material to rub off all the grime.

  10. Randy's black label is my favorite cleaner bar none. I sell and ship used pipes regularly w Randy's and don't think twice about it. Won't leave any of the stains some cleaners do or label wear. It's reusable also I can clean my entire collection w just a small amount and it's cheap. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1396634516.693252.jpg

If I can find it I might give it a try. I haven't heard of Randy's though

  12. It's probably just concentrated simple green. I've bought expensive glass cleaner at head shops before and they clean exactly like concentrated simple green will. Plus it's way cheaper and still reusable.

  13. ive heard great things about randys, but at 12oz its not enough for me. ive heard of a powdered solution that home beer brewers use, just dump into hot watet and cleans a lot of equipment for brewing. jus havent been able to try it yet, called pbw for those that may be interested.

  14. I have used Purple for many years with the same 16 oz. bottle, Now, I don't clean often, but it has lasted many years, finally, it was time for a new batch. So I do a google search and was not finding much, until I see a wallyworld link. Sure enough, and get this, 1 gallon jug for less than $5.00, Also found the gallon jugs on ebay for $12-25. Needless to say, I had to go buy a gallon and yes it seems to be the same product sold in head shops in the 16 oz. bottles. One thing I noticed in the "store description" it said not to use on auto glass, painted surfaces... and where do you think I found this product, in the Automotive Dept.
Just an FYI, have a great day people

  15. the thing with iso/salt is it actually scratches your glass, that stuff that looks like film are all tiny scratches, but besides that yeah iso/salt is the best. some guy at a smoke shop told me the whole scratches thing but not sure if its bs he gave me a free bottle of 420 out of it so meh haha

  16. I only use salt if really needed. Which is rare because I keep my glass clean.

  17. Forgot about this thread. I bought some purple power a while ago, the stuff just seems like iso with dishsoap. Not really the biggest fan, I just stick to iso.

  18. I just bought some the other day and went back for some orange cleaner.. worked way better.

  20. I usually just use 420 Cleaner. It works well for me and I've never needed to try anything different.
