My dog who happens to be a medial marijuana patient in the great state of california decided to try to grow his own as a hobby and set up a small dwc system. He's growing blue dream because he was told it's a good beginner strain that's hard to kill. They are on their 4th week of flower ad
and everything has been looking good but now all the new growth towards the bottom is curling down and small sickly looking while the tops are still looking good. Besides the fact that a few stems on each plant are redish/purpleish and my little puppy doesn't know what to do. He says that he flushed them with straight water for 24 hours and then hooked em back up with some food and its been a day and nothing has changed. Hes using adv nutrients bloom a and b also big bud bud candy at 3/4 strength he had some nute burn the second week so hes trying to avoid that again. Currently he says there is 6.2 ph and 787 ppm with the tap water used origionally 200 ppm before adding anything to it. Any suggestions for the litle pup? Also if any info is missing lmk and I will see if my stoner ass dog rememebers ;-)

posted this in another forum but got no help figured I would try here

  2. I dont know much, but the purple stems could be due to temp or nute lockout / deficiency. Do you monitor your temps? If so, posting the high-lows would help on where to start. As for your bottom growth, is it getting good lighting? If not, alot of people reccomend cutting it off (lollypopping) to encourage bigger top growth. just my .02, hope i helped a little.

  3. For some reason I actually thought you meant... like, an actual dog.

    You don't, do you?

  6. I like to try and keep my ph a little lower. Anywhere from 5.6-6.0 is my preference.

Plants are efficient- any leaf that is not getting enough light to produce food, dies!  Either add additional light at the base of your plants, or just keep picking off the yellowing leaves!  I'm a "dirt grower", so I won't comment on the coir and such.

And hon, you don't need to be coy about cannabis use at GC!  :gc_rocks:   I, for example, am a 66 year old woman who grows cannabis and uses it daily!  This is GRASS CITY where you don't need to hide who you are and what you do with cannabis!
