The check the receive every 2 weeks has a tax in it that helps fund it. There would not be a need to raise peoples taxes to get that type of program going.
i agree. some states already have welfare to work programs (mine included) and it seems to me that all it does is subsidize labor at taxpayer expense. whether or not it is better than totally free leeching....idk.
