Why cant you get first time high back?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by orangegrovekush, Mar 31, 2014.

  1. I just don't get it when i first smoked weed i started out with an ounce, and it was unbelievably amazing and it was like that everyday for a month after that the highs felt shit. i want to know the scientific reason for this.

Also it's weird because yes i have been extremely happy without weed but that first time was like x100 and now i don't appreciate feeling happy sober since i know what it's like to be super happy.

  3. Sounds like you're developing a psychological need/addiction to weed. Look into it my friend

  4. Lol it's not like a super complicated reason, it's just, your body gets used to the thc entering your body, so it doesn't get you as high. It becomes immune. Think of it like this, you're used to eating healthy your whole like and then you finally get McDonald's and get sick, but you keep eating mcdonalds, you won't get sick after a while, you'll just be a fat fuck.

The point is, if you want that first time high, you need to take what's called a tolerance break, basically, stop smoking for a week or two. If you can wait a month, that's even better. Then when you smoke, it'll feel like the first time

    Stay lifted

  5. ^Agree with @[member="BongHitsAndAcidTrips"] that it definitely has to do with tolerance, but even after a long t-break I still have never felt that same feeling the first time I got high. Sure I become relaxed happy and creative still but that first time I got high it was absolutely fricken amazing and I'll never forget it, absolute euphoria.

I guess it's like losing your virginity, you can only do it once.

  6. Partly tolerance, which can be controlled, and partly it being a novel experience. Something new.

  7. like everyone said its part tolerance part you know what to expect now. Your first time you didnt know what to expect so it was new and exciting. Its like trying to scare yourself no matter how hard you try the surprise element is gone

  8. Nobody is ever going to get their first experience back, not for anything, it's just the way we are; we can not perceive things as they were when they were new and exciting after the fact.

Aside from the basic fact that you're unable to relive the first time, you can still relive the better times, the better highs in which you noticeably feel incredible. Unfortunately the only way you're going to be able to do this is if you're to take a long enough tolerance break to help 'reset' your body and the way it reacts when you put THC in your system.

  9. thing is, marijuana isnt a drug that gets you super high. sure you can get super stoned, but your just stoned. its weed dude, its a sense enhancer, not a put-you-on-your-ass drug.

sure your first time was like "whoa", but thats because it was like a breathtaking first time experience.

you wont ever get that breathtaking feeling because youve already experienced the "whoa" factor the first time.

  10. Unless you try a new toking tool or edibles.

  11. I'm with you, took a 5 month break and smoked an ounce the day I started again and still wasn't even close to my first few times smoking. "Once you see something, you can't unsee it" same thing applies to weed, once you've been high a few times, your body just knows what to expect, regardless of how long the break is

  12. I wouldn't say new tool, but new way of ingesting it, yes. Like the first time I took a dab was like reliving the first time getting stoned, because its so much more intense

That sucks. If your tolerance break is longer than a week you should be feeling even more stoned than your first time. I've gone months with no hint of it for school and vacations where I've gotten back and gotten the highest ever everytime. I hate being that high, it's mindfucking and not fun. I appreciate the highs I get when I've been smoking for a couple months. After several months I think you can consider breaking.

  14.
yeah man mindfucking highs are not that fun. you're right though, highs even with a tolerance of a few months built up are good. man I've never actually had a break for longer than a month but i might consider trying it. I'm not a regular smoker but I do it whenever I get the chance, if that makes sense?

  15. I think because we expect it, and we already know how it's going to feel.

Kind of like watching a movie with a super good twist. You won't get the same reaction twice because you already know what happens.

  16. I've had a 1 year straight t break still wasn't as good and weed was dank

  17. Edibals....Im a daily toker with a high tolerance 44 years man.....but the other day I made a 3.5 gram firecraker which got me really high....that scared paranoid high.   untill i remembered I was just high  then I was high for the rest of the day not that first time feeling

Your first time high is the first time THC hit your receptors, you will never have "clean" receptors again after your first hit, that's why it will never be that crazy again.

My first high wasn't even pleasureable, it was chaos lol, pictured my head spinning as a clown on a rotating circle, being any object I touched, was crazy. A few weeks later I had some incredible pure euphoric highs and all that good stuff.

I still get paranoid highs, usually when I am completely by myself with no sound, like last night. Im also on that wax now for a good while

  19. Why is masturbation and sex so intense the first time?

  20. First time your brain experiences that dopamine rush
