The Ultraverse? (Beyond the Multiverse?)

Discussion in 'Science and Nature' started by Senior PoopiePants, Mar 31, 2014.

  1. I was watching the Q&A that was aired after the first cosmos:

And Neil deGrasse Tyson said something along the lines of there being something after the Multiverse in structure.

So I went into paint and tried to draw something up. I really wanted to go beyond what I called the "Ultraverse", but I ran out of canvas. Maybe I'll do something up in Photoshop, or someone can do better.

    Here's what I got:

    What do you think, GC?

  2. I am not sure of Neil's reasoning for talking about a multiverse like it's fact (seemed like he was on Cosmos and another interview I saw him in), but with the way the universe is, it will always appear that we are inside a bubble. Provided the universe continues expanding as it is, there will be a point (about 45 billion light years out) where the rate of expansion is greater than the speed of light. So any light created outside of that point will NEVER reach us so long as the universe continues expanding. It'll appear as if we're inside a bubble that is 90 billion light years in diameter.. yet there's no reason to think we are inside any kind of bubble or that the universe is any different from 45 billion light years on out.

  3. either way, no matter how many levels the verses get extrapolated to....they are still a part of the all encompassing reality, a part of all that exists.

i think how deep you take it is irrelevant.

  4. An objective reality?

  5. The question still remains, what would lie beyond the ultraverse?

  6. New episodes :)

  7.
    The uberverse.

  8. Megaverse?

    Hyperverse?

    Superverse?

  9. Penultimaverse

You have to think anything is possible if the concept of 'infinity' is true

  10. I find it funny how people watch a tv snow and think everything they say is real LOL that's like saying if you watch a zombie movie, a zombie apocalypse is real.

And I know there's going to be someone who will quote me for this and say "well what do you believe in"? And personally I'll prolly get lots of hate but I am Christian and so therefore I believe in one universe. An anyone who wants to call me out on being religious think about the fact that when it comes to the universe anything is possible, it's so bizarre and just such a big mystery that literally anything could be real. So yes ima contradict myself by saying the multiverse could be real or fake but to me it's fake and just for a nice laugh. So as I'm typing this I find my post has nothing to do with anything since I in a way went against being against your ideas on a multiverse haha. But my point just don't believe everything you see on tv.

  11. We are just part of the whole, we can go infinitely up (Ultraverse, megaverse, ..) and infinitely down (atom, electron, ..).

  12. not that i dont agree in general, but i feel that most people watching this specific show and understanding it are well aware its theory.

  13. I understand that for te most part but then there are people out there that watch it because they wana know about the universe and then start to believe it because it's tv. I don't know like I said before to me it's complete bullshit but that's just me and it's the universe so I wasn't trying to say it's lies because were talking about the universe I was just saying what I believe if that's makes sense

  15. Idk about your drawing. Ita kind of hard to represent 3 dimensions in a 2 dimensional drawing muchless 4 or more. Perhaps the other universes arent in 3 dimensional relation to ours. Maybe its more like having two apps open o your computer and they are both open but you can only be in one at a time since they are on top of each other. Of course that is just a simple analogy of my point. Better yet, perhaps your conscience chooses which universal reality you perceive to inhibit.

    And Then There Was Silence

  16. -Doesn't believe in scientific theory
    -Is Christian

  17. I don't get what your tryin to...

  18. Any news on this ultraverse? Its not really living upto the hype. Can someone make up an image and get it signed by that african man in a suit?

  19. Met a few guys from NASA while I was in Iraq, worked with them actually. They had some crazy ideas about this. I couldn't wrap my mind around it though, and I can't really say I believe in it because there isn't any proof. Nonetheless, the idea of our universe being one of billions, trillions (or infinite) is absolutely amazing and horrifying.
