recirculate DWC

  1. I'm gonna be growing in 12 buckets, not sure about size yet.  (5~10 gal)

Instead of watering, measuring ph, and feeding each and every plant , I suppose it'd be just wiser to have a large container, and connect them all together, that way I only have to do one thing at a time for all of the plants together?
Question is, how do I do that? don't tell me to use the search button cause I have, and unfortunately, I couldn't find something that explains how to do it properly.
Since I'll be drilling holes in the buckets, how can I ensure that I will not have any leaks?

  2. Here's a tutorial I used, but there are plenty here in the forum. https://www.opengrow.com/topic/43524-under-currentrdwc-hybrid-system/

  3. What about the roots? What happens when the bucket is loaded with roots? are they gonna come in contact with the other plants' roots? What are the consequences? and how do I prevent root riot?

  6. How come? please enlighten me. I'm about to throw a couple of good G's on lights only. What should I be worried of...? I've done soil for the first time, I literally faced all of the difficulties but in the end I managed to get nice ass plants. But now It's time to step it up from soil to DWC. Don't scare me away lol

  7. I don't like hydro, it's too much work, and too small of a window for success for my tastes. I use organics and get out the hose every couple days or so. You can just put the hose in your tank, you have to coddle it. I like working with my PLANT, not water. I got root rot because I didn't understand the reasoning for cooling your tank among other things. I still harvested the plant, but it hermied and gave me a bunch of seeds. Not a big deal, they grow well. I haven't had to buy seeds ever since then. That was a year ago. I didn't do recirc, I just did a single bucket to try it out. I'm not saying it's a bad style, it's just not for me. Here's a few pics, she got HUGE even with the root rot.

  8. If the problem is that it's too much work, I'm not worried about that. plants looks nice, sativa? I'm growing mostly indicas. In fact, all indicas. I like big yields

  9. I'm more indica too. That was my first indoor, I let them get too big. I've learned a thing or two since then.

  10. It'll be my second grow, first dwc

  11. Good luck bud, like I said I was just turned off by all the water I had to use and mixing and cooling and pH'ing and cleaning and, and, and...

  12. how often did you have to do that?

  13. Res change once a week, top off every couple of days, ALWAYS pH and PPM. Nutrients, air pumps, stones, net pots, hydroton, etc are EXPENSIVE. THEN you can work on plants such as pruning and training.

  14. I'm not worried about that. Let's say, I'm throwing 3g's on it. Me and my buddy are in this together. We're actually gonna get like 6-7k Wats in there. Mix both HPS and MH

  15. with 7k W, I'm hoping to harvest about 10 pounds every 3-4 months. Sounds realistic in DWC, no? Veg under MH, flower under HPS, and maybe mix a little bit HPS + MH before go completely into flower, to give them a "winter-ish" feeling

  16. Gonna get something to bite, brb

  17. Then you're gonna need something bigger... http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=6SemrxM1MfFsTM&tbnid=xLNchoTdQTxc1M:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.basementlighting.com%2FMerchant2%2Fmerchant.mv%3Fpage%3D1%2FPROD%2FBPDWCR&ei=_yA4U_emIsqxqQGOl4CIDw&bvm=bv.63808443,d.aWc&psig=AFQjCNH5JjxULf2PxkEvLACoohn3T5twAg&ust=1396273754550390

  18. It was an example. You can build something that will work well, I did.

    You just need more buckets.
