New model cars are terrible

Discussion in 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' started by ReturnFire333, Mar 30, 2014.

  1. Seriously, I dislike this whole "streamlined, aerodynamic" look so much that I almost hate it. The cars are so damn ugly, it's terrible. They all look like f***ing slugs on wheels. Take me back to the 1990's please. Does anyone like "modern" style cars?

  2. Yeah I'm a 90s car person

Mostly because I can't afford anything newer though

  3. How about take me back to the late sixties and early seventies....real cars with real muscle.

Yeah... and real 15 mpg, with real high gas prices. Not like modern muscle cars do much better but.

  5. Nothing after 1990 for me. All mechanical, no electronics. Today's autos lack character. There are also too many driving "crutches", skid control, trac control, etc.
People shouldn't rely on the machine to perform the tasks that good driving technique controls.
But IMHO f*ck the modern world in general.

  6. In my reading, it seemed as the OP was mostly referring to the "look" of a car, not the gas mileage or what the gas prices of the decade were.

  7. Fuck no, most cars in the 90's were ugly as hell. Especially the ones that survived and you still see driving around

  8. Newer cars all look the same and are bland as hell.

Late 80' through late 90's had great looking cars. So did the late 60's to mid 70's. I own a 89 Crx(my track car)2013 Accord, and soon to own a 70-73 240z.

  9. While I like 60s and 70s Muscle Cars more than todays, everything else looks massively better.

    Sorry.

  10. Yeah let's go back to understeering in corners and live rear axles and a bunch of guys making up for their short comings  by driving a fucking hot wheels looking car.

  11.

Slow ass heavy led sleds that drank gas like a motherfucker and were unreliable as shit! Also they handled like garbage and were total boats.

I'm a 90s fan myself, the F-bodies were some of the most awesome cars. Cars started to get lighter and engines became more efficient; a clean ass 02 trans am  ws6 is a hot ass example. The sound is awesome, the look contemporary, and the handling smooth as silk.

  12. I like 60s to late 80s. I agree most cars now look bland but the select few are still quite sexy ;)
My dads got a '87 Grand National chillin in the driveway and I just can't wait until I can get my license again to be able to drive that shit around xD

  13. Once again I'll say that my comment was towards the look of the American muscle cars, not how they handled or how you stereotype all the owners to be, "making up for their short comings." :smoke:

Yeah everything was just so unique back in the day. Nothing looked the same.

A black and white shot doesn't help you much. But if you really look indepth, start from the rightside with the el camino and scan over, all the body lines are different, the only thing that seems to appear often is a similar "buggy" tail light style. All cars today look the same. Hell just look around you. Take my 2013 Accord for example... Every other car out there looks like it...

My 2013 GTI doesn't look like your accord. And neither does it look like a Range Rover. Which does not resemble a Porsche 911. Which looks nothing like a Fiat 500. Which coincidentally bares no resemblance to a Subaru BRZ.

You are comparing a Range Rover a SUV to a Compact car please no more stupid comments....
To give you a far comparison ill stick to 2013 year and 4 doors. If you want me to compare two door vvs two door next sure. Heres a few all from a different auto maker.

EDIT: You wont ever find cars that look as different as this nowadays. You wont... cars today have no personality.

  18. I owned a bunch of 60s and 70s cars. The body styles on the muscle cars were great, but the mechanical issues brought about by mechanical points, adjustable carbs, and not having an ECM controlled engine outweighed it all, imho.

Cars today are so superior that there's no comparison.... :confused_2:

You keep posting dumb comments... In my pictures posted there is a BMW and Volvo hardly Japanese. Cars you hardly see on the road... Wow just wow... There is an Accord,Corolla, Mazda 6, S60.... Common cars... You obviously aren't a car guy..Banned from my last account here? No idiot, i came here to learn about growing and share my grow diary from what i learned. What does post count or time spent on a forum mean? Everyone of us is or was new on a forum at one time. I don't think this will lead anywhere so i'm done talking to you and am going to look for some sort of block function.

    Good day.

Just to keep making you feel stupid...
The Accord is the daily driver... My Crx is my track car.
Ported and polished b16 head +1mm valves. Going turbo. Most likely a t3 .60 with a .63 ar.
Block is stock but getting forged rods/pistons just haven't picked a brand, but I need to drop compression from 10.5:1 to 9.5:1. Just  recently ordered supertech valve springs and retainers.
Also other shit i've done. just  to throw in more pics and make you feel stupid.
