DIY LED Veg light

  1. How does this look, im planning on making a led veg light here is all the materials i have in my cart do i need anything else? The site im using http://shop.stevesleds.com/viewcart.sc

  2. I have yet to build one. I am still in the research phase and need to generate a parts list. I want to build one with 150 - 3w LEDs with at least these color outputs - Blue 440nm~470nm, Red 630nm~660nm, IR 740nm, Warm White(2900K) & Cool White(6500K)
    If I do end up pulling the trigger on this one I will post it in the DIY section.
     
  3. I have my leds, drivers and fan cooled heat sinks. Then I'll try the 3w array but just will use warm and cool white. All parts will be sourced off ebay.

  4. Greetings! 1st post but been reading for weeks. Great site!
    I love the building your own LED idea. The potential seems to be limitless however my understanding is that cool white leds put out a lot of green spectrum which plants do not absorb because they are already green. Why power a led that your plant can't benefit from? There is a great sticky someplace here about light spectrum and photosynthesis. It explains way better than I can. Thanks, RJ
