Just watched it while smoking headband. Incrediable. Sent from my LG-VM696 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
It's an awesome one for experienced drug users, some of the drug scenes make you feel like your on that drug. If you know what I mean. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
They were right about the lude ban enacted in 1982, but these drugs were not generally used recreationally until the early 1970's, not the 1950's and 60's as the movie claims. Pretty good film, though, very evidently a Scorsese film.
Seems like one of those movies where they throw in parties, drugs, hot bitches, and the younger generation just swarms all over it thinking it's such a good movie because it has parties, drugs, and hot bitches.
I really didn't find it all that great... Kind of a cool story and somewhat humorous but all it did was glorify drug use, and hookers, and show how stuck up rich ass swipe CEOs can be.
I didn't think it was the greatest movie. All i kept saying was "Damn Leo got fucking old dude!" Sent from my iPad using Grasscity Forum
This is how I felt! However I did not get to see the ending. For some reason the volume went out towards the end and I just went to sleep. Haven't seen the end of it yet (was at a friends house). But what I did see, it was good but nothing great, but maybe the ending would make it much better?
Thought I would enjoy it a lot more after hearing the hype. It still has it's moments but the plot really lacked imo.
I'd give the movie an 8/10. It was a good movie, very good. But not great. People are over glorifying it because of the sex, drugs, party, etc.
People are so critical of the movie because of the drugs, sex, and lavish lifestyle it's pushing, yet it's an honest portrayal of a person who lived that lifestyle. That's the kind of lifestyle that our society perpetuates on its own anyway- which is why even when most of us were still breastfeeding, there were people who lived this way to an obscene level. The point isn't to deliver a clean film; it's to deliver an honest interpretation. No one's holding a gun to your head and telling you to think that Jordan Belfort is a saint. He's not. He's a huge asshole who had a hell of a ride, and in doing so has seen and done more than most of us probably ever will. You can respect and dislike different aspects of his character just like anyone else. Not only that, but I refuse to believe the people in this thread have not seen more explicit movies than The Wolf of Wall Street.
