Second Veg Cycle?

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by cliffale, Mar 25, 2014.

  1. I don't know if you guys would consider this an "advanced" topic, but it's advanced for me. :)  I have three Blackberry plants I just harvested flowers from. Each one is still alive, I left some branches and big leaves because I'm wondering if I flip them back to 24 hour lights and start back up the veg nutes, will they cycle back into vegetation mode again?

As long as you leave some nodes, the plants will usually be able to revert back to veg after 2-4 weeks in veg lighting. I've revegged plants many times without any trouble. Your plants will get very bushy from revegging too.

  3. Bananamber, thanks so much for your reply! Well this is good news. I'm really curious to see what the differences will be. So it will be bushier... Can you tell me if there are any differences as far as when you're ready to bud it again, does it affect potency the second time around? Also, do I need to prune it back really short if I'm revegging, or just let it take over as it is?

  4. Your best bet is to prune it down for the reveg. If not, depending on how you harvested off of it, it can end up looking like frankenstien. It will not effect the potency or yield. The reveg period can take quite sometime, but the plant will be nearly identical once grown again. I've done this a few times to save genetics.

  5. I made a clone and had no 2nd tent or lighting system so after a week I put it into my flowering tent well after I cut down my mature plants I ended up taking a blue dream clone for a friend and fellow patient and switching the lights and timers back to veg and started a new experiment with reveging and let me say as a new grower it has kinda been scary I'm experiencing something so new I'm going to post a pic I'd like some advice as the plant was pretty far into to flowering when I switched it I topped the top buds off and used them for cannabutter and left the bottom branch 20140415_134640.jpg 20140415_134640.jpg

  6. 420Diaries, I'm getting the same results. I have four like this and at first glance one might not even recognize them as pot. I'll post pics when I can finally get on with my laptop. I'm having trouble signing on with anything but my phone. I'm told it has no affect on harvest quantity or potency but I'm getting a real kick out of seeing these develop. Many leaves are smooth, not serrated... Missing fingers or heavily warped. It's really interesting! I'd like to hear more about your experience with this as time goes on.

Ok, got my account problems figured out. I was trying to sign into the Grasscity online store instead of the forums. Lol! Two weeks of banging my head on the wall and that's what it was! Jeesh. Anyway, I'm posting the pics of my own and they're very similar to your experience. These are all Blackberry, the one in the cup is a clone from a Blackberry that was already heavy into flower (took forever to begin vegging again!), the other two short ones are from harvested Blackberry whose main stem eventually died out so i just trimmed it all the way down to the new growth. And the taller one I kept the main stem because it didn't rot and I'm just very curious as to what it will do. But what, the bushy new growth at the bottom looks so strange to me. :)   EDIT: I can not freakin believe they all came out sideways. I'm so sorry about that. That's embarrassing. :)
