What type of medium; soil or hydro? Hydro
What brand and type of soil? Canna Coco
    Indoors or outdoors? Indoors
What strain? White Widow x Big Bud
How old are the plants? Around 9 weeks old, but day 21 of flowering
What type of lights and how many watts? Solis Tek 600w HPS
How far from the lights? Around 10"
What is your watering frequency and source of water? Tap water Ph'd to 5.8-5.9
What, how much and when was it fed? NPK? Feeding with Coco Canna A+B, 40ml of each in 10L of water. CMX (CalMag), 10ml in 10L of water. Bud Juice, 25ml in 10L of water. Then Ph'd to 5.9 or so.  NPK of the Canna Coco A+B is 5-2-3. I was feeding this every 4 to 5 days.
What is the medium/runoff pH and PPM if in hydro? I haven't been able to flush them properly since I put the SCROG net down around week 6 of veg (26/2).
What are the temps and humidity in the room? Temps from 24c to 31c. Humidity from 40% to 65%
What size pots? They're in 50L pots.
Any bugs? Look real close. Nope, no bugs.
    Any other pertinent info?

I flushed and put these ladies into 12/12 on 3/3. Since then they have been on purely nutes (no straight water). So when they started looking a little worse for wear (yellowing and burning on edges of bottom leaves, working their way towards stem) I did some MORE research, and came to the conclusion that my medium may have salt buildup due to me not giving enough water between nute feeds. And the fact that my nute feeds were full strength wouldn't have been helping either.

So I Ph'd around 20L of plain tap water, and gave my girls a good drenching. My little plant only took 2L before it started to run off. But the other 3 I drenched with about 6L each of Ph'd water each.

In the days following that, my ladies seemed to recover some and even started having a bit of a growth spurt. The yellowing and dying bottom leaves are goners. I'm just hoping I've put enough water through them to leech out some of the built up salts.

Now my question is, should I give them another round of plain Ph'd water? Or maybe start feeding them half-strength nutes again. I don't want to stuff this up halfway through flower.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

  2. I don't usually bump my threads, but i'm going to have to water them tomorrow.

Can anyone give me some advice or steer me in the right direction?

At the moment i'm leaning towards the half strength nutes.

  3. I don't so much flush it as such. Just over water with pH'd water to dilute the salt and drag it down to the bottom of the pots.

Hopefully that's enough because I have no intention of flooding my tent.

  4. I've got your answer. FLUSH. A flush for coco ratio is 2gal water to every 1 gal medium. Im I'm 5gal pots so mine would be 10ea.
What color is your run off? If brownish keep flushing. Test your ppm's and ph. Whatever goes in should come out with the same ph and close to same ppm.
Your in coco, you have to flush regularly. Look up the coco tutorial/flushing on here and its explained in detail.
As for how to flush with a SCROG, put some semi deep trays underneath each plant and buy a gas syphon or other form of liquid pump.
Good luck. I'm going back to syphoning run off.

  5. Thanks Amethyst. I ended up doing just that.

I'm going to adjust my setup next time so I have more room to maneuver around my plants.

I'm also going to put some catch pans in to catch run off so I can water then properly.

Thanks for the advice guys. This forum rocks!
