Frost percolators?

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by Papfo, Mar 19, 2014.

  1. So I decided that it is time for me to get my first bong. However where I live (greece) we do not boost the wide selection that you have in many countries abroad. Most bongs here are usually cheap glass. So after some digging I managed to find a bong that I like. It is a frost double collateral damage with percolators.

So what I wanted to ask the fellow blades is if they know anything about frost glass . Is it any good? Should I maybe go for a black leaf bong that I found?

  2. I don't know anything about frost glass... but if I were you, I wouldn't get a beaker. The beaker is usually the weakest part of the pipe. That's not always true, it depends on who makes them... but if you have limited availability, I'd suggest a straight water pipe with a sturdy base just to be on the safe side.

  3. Cheap glass is just that, cheap glass. Doesn't matter if it's a beaker or straight tube...

Get yourself an HVY piece OP. Way cheaper and higher quality.

  4. That dude's in Greece, don't know how hard it'd be to find a HVY there.  I don't know if any shops will ship international from us to overseas but I'd suggest that the OP find shops that carry US glass and call them up to see if anyone is willing to ship.  Or I'd probably lean towards getting some German glass, roor, or ehle, and there was some guy on here a little while ago, I think he used to work for german roor and now has his own label?  Maybe someone can find that post for you.

  5.  idk.. I might disagree. in cheap glass, straight tube is stronger because there is no thinner blown up bottom of the bong.. so the bottom might shatter easly for example when you set the bong down on the table a bit too hard

  6. That's why I said quality beaker. The glass is gonna be virtually, if not entirely, the same thickness all the way around. Whereas with some poorly made, mass produced, china glass is going to have a lot of variation in its overall thickness. Then you gotta consider the fact that the quality of glass is drastically different.
I'd bet money a quality beaker of 5mm glass is stronger than a 7mm china straight tube.

You can't really just "sit" a straight tube down too hard, but how do you do that with a beaker? I mean if you're that clumsy, it's safe to assume you'd be just as likely to tip over, or even knick the side on the edge of a table, with a straight tube....

  8. Thanks for all your responses guys

I thought about ordering online before, thing is that Idk if it ll pass the customs. Plus due to some.financial issues (I dunno if you follow the news but economically we re crap) id rather purchase a bong in cash.

You said some stuff about the beaker being weak, would it be better if I bought a straight tube? Also there are other cheaper frost bongs (this one ia about 120 euro) should I maybe go for the cheaper ones? I thought that the more expensive the bong the better quality it ll be

    Thanks in advance
