Let me introduce myself, I am in my twenties and I have been doing gardening/farming for well all my life haha. I have worked for a greenhouse for a year and then had to move for college, But it wasn't until recent years that I started learning about Cannabis as a plant and its medical values that my friends helped introduce me to. See when I was 16 I was hit by a drunk driver and have neck, back, and shoulder nerve damage, while suffering from fluctuating migraines.

ANYWAYS. Haha so everyone wanted me to make a grow journal being that this is my first grow. Hope you all enjoy!

    Here is my grow setup:

Currently using a 45 watt LED grow pc case that I purchased from Mr grow pro.. Highly recommend, but I did make quite a few modifications to the case and plan to continue modifying and helping my plants gain their full potential.

Mods to case so far: I have added a separate power supply for my fans because I do not believe that the fans should shut off at the same time as the lights, if anything the fan should at least come on in 15 min intervals during lights off. ( I will recommend this to anyone using any setup, you need 24 hrs of fan supply )
I have added some homemade CO2 to the case ( two bottles ) being that I only have one plant inside the case that should be plenty of co2, if it isn't then I will use other methods.

    My medium: Soil based organic
Mix contents: peat moss, EWC, rock dust, limestone, tomato tune, kelp meal, etc

Lets get on with my show, we are a little behind in journaling... in fact, we are very behind. 10 days into veg cycle already.

I have been doing posting/helping on another thread for which I will post a link to below

I am going to make a new post here in a couple min that will display my grow from day one in the case ( before the case arrived as it was back ordered, I had already started growing the plants inside with fluorescent lights and cfl bulbs)

If you look at the first set of fan leaves compared to my newest etc, you can tell the difference between florescent lighting and LED. The LED keeps my nodes much, much tighter. Which in turn is going to give me a higher yield, if I am not mistaken haha.

So go ahead and look up at the picture and remember first week the plants were under florescent and cfl bulbs and the most recent nodes have been done under the LED

Here is my other main plant named twisty

  5. Im waiting for seed at the moment for my outside grow. gonna buy a small green house offline and throw a few autos in it. I ordered some northern lights nirvana autos. They are supposed to yield good im gonna start 2 when they arrive and then 2 when they are about half way done.

Looking good man you girl looks to love the new soil and the led. Do you have a few tips for going organic? A simple organic mix though, the ones i look up have a hundred ingredients you have to add (exaggerating) but it is a good bit of amendments. I'm just looking to add ewc/ bat guano, organic soil, some kelp and alfalfa meal perlite and some lime dolomite. What is the rock dust used for? I just need something simple to mix up but not over the top.

    Here ya go bud,

    http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1116550-Easy-Organic-Soil-Mix-for-Beginners

Now my mix has special ingredients that I may or may not disclose just yet lol but that mix in the link I posted will def set you in the right direction.

Rock dust helps to give the good microbes a home in the soil etc. It also helps to mineralize the soil and I'm sure it does some other things too, but this is one of my key ingredients in my soil mix, I feel it is important, others may tell you it isn't.. But hey once you have it.. You can reuse it over and over again. So in my book it only helps to make your soil continuously fertile.

Seedling what type of greenhouse did you purchase? I'm thinking about getting one for my balcony but I'm not sure what brands are good etc. I'm use to working in large greenhouses haha

  8. Rock dust actually gives anchor points for the fungal networks so they can actually growmuch larger then without. ;) looking good man.

  9. Thank you sir! I appreciate you taking time to look at my girls and give me advice :)

Alright please forgive the brightness of my pictures as the plants are awake right now, but here are my latest updates

I have added the scrog to the pc and I'm hoping I have done this correctly. I have been LST-ing my plants for about a week or two . And I plan to continue vegging for another two weeks or three weeks probably three.

But could you all let me know if it's too early for scrog or if I'm doing this right? Haha I read it's pretty much easy.

Below is a picture of my two homemade CO2 bottles

Oh I forgot about headband. This is headband original strain. She's growing in there too. Well vegging and will most likely try and grow both somehow or maybe just headband but we will just see how these bag seeds turn out.. I'm thinking they are going to be some killer buds. But who knows haha

Here she is a couple hours after I put the screen inside and positioned her.
My plan right now is to grow bud sites up the side of the pc I at least want three bud sites as I am not sure exactly how this case will work with a ton of bud sites I plan on bending the wire on the screen to position above the intake fan and just below the outtake fan . So it will be slanted and allow for bud to grow diagonally up and allow for the main bud to grow straight up

Hopefully someone can correct me if on going about this all wrong haha

    Thanks!

  12. Rearranged the screen, bent it the way that I want.

(I turned the lights off for 10 seconds just to take a couple photos for everyone)

  13. Well, headband fell into the fan last night. But I monitored all thru the night and I believe she will pull thru. Doesn't appear stressed either.

Here she is when it first happened, she started to droop ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1395334794.627272.jpg

but she is better this morning

  14. Good lookin stuff in here man!  Welcome to GC organics.  You were asking if this is too early for the SCROG... it's definitely earlier than most SCROGs start, but I don't think it should hurt anything.  How big is your PC case?  How big do you have room for your plant to get?

  15. Thanks man!

Here are the dimensions for my case
    : 26.5x18x8 in ~ 67x45x20 cm

    My smartie gallon pot is : 7” x 6”

So I would say I have about 18 good inches to grow (keep in mind small led lights about an inch in height)
plus I am doing the LST so that will give me more room

I figured it might be a little early for scrog, however I wanted the lower new growth to get more light so it can help spread new branches/shoots lol

  16. Latest update for everyone.

Headband appears to be making a full recovery :)

New sets of nodes are forming and growing very quickly. That new growth and so quickly can only be because of a couple of reasons, and since I didn't change any fertilization haha it's because of the accident with the fan cutting off three leaves.

Anyways so headband is doing well

Here is twisty (one of my many outdoor plants I will have)

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1395511772.338667.jpg

Twisty is doing very well on her own. I have her outside sometimes when it's around 65-75 outside but for the most part she has a grow chamber to herself inside.

Here is quick and bushy in my pc case with headband

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1395512070.604405.jpg

In these next couple of photos you can see new shoots forming :)

  17. Ive done a dickton of research on SCROGs so i feel confident in throwing this advice out there.

When you put the SCROG in is up to you. Most seem to keep theirs 8" to 12" from soil level. but how full the scrog is determines when you flip to 12/12. You want to grow horizontally under the scrog with lsting and topping to fill out space, anything that reaches 3" above the scrog should be pulled down through and placed in the next empty grid space. This creates the flat plane and bud sites youre looking for in a scrog.

The rule of thumb for veg time ive heard repeatedly is once its 30 to 40 % full flip to 12/12, this varies depending on how much your strain generally stretches after the flip. After the flip keep pulling new growth that reaches 3" above the net down through and to empty grid spaces. This fills the SCROG. Google "LBHs 4 way LST" and the subsequent guide to flowering. Excellent material for learning SCROG. Good luck buddy!

  18. Yeah I only left the scrog on there for a day, I removed it and am just waiting for more shoots right now

Thanks man! I have done a ton of research on lighting and soil etc. And found this to be adequate for my growing needs. However when it comes time for scrog training I will def need some help with that for sure man!

    Enjoy the ride bro!
