  2. Hon, I'm in California, so I can't help you with finding your medication. All I have is a suggestion that worked for me.

When I moved to a new town where I knew no one, I went back to school. I took some courses at the local community college- and after chatting up the kids at the "stoner's table" in the cafeteria/lounge, I got invited to a party. I found myself a very reliable dealer there! Unless we are talking the rare, "ultra-conservative" school, most community colleges are a good place to look for cannabis! :smoke:

And FYI- I was a frumpy, overweight, mid-50s housewifey-type back then- NOT a typical stoner at all!  I did it, YOU CAN DO IT!  And hon, it is against the GC rules to ask for a hook-up, even for purely medical reasons. You can say that you are desperately looking for new "friends", though!  ;)  I'd edit the post before a mod sees it and gives you an infraction. (I'm not a mod, just an old "busy-body")

And are you aware of the latest on cannabis and HIV? (more on this can be found in "Granny Storm Crow's List"- check out the bottom of my sig to get your free copy)

  3. Sorry to hear this.  I'm in MN and can't help specifically but I suspect if you hunt around a bit and got to an HIV support group or two you will find a steady and reliable supply.  If you decide to move you don't need to go all the way to CO.  There are MMJ programs closer.  Good Luck.

  4. Well good news for us here in NY. I am in Buffalo and just heard today it cleared the first hurdle now onto the Governors desk for final approval, if I understand right.
Just not sure how the program works, I know my doc will be more than willing to write the script for me as his motto is quality of life over all other things. I have an apt in a couple of weeks at which time I will approach the topic once again. At present I have a script for Marinol which when I take two 10 mg capsules, I get a good mellow high that puts me in a dreamy relaxed state. All the pain associated with my HIV disappears and if it did come back I really wouldn't care anyway.
Just going to start reading everything I can get my hands on to be ready for this to finally pass legislation....supposedly it is in a fast track status so it should be available shortly.
Just wondering how long I can get both the marinol and pot for relief in case the pot fails at what other say.
Finally the most liberal state in the union is passing this common sense legislation that will ultimately pay for itself in taxes which are outrageous here in the state.
RE taxes of over $7000. sales tax over 10%....and still Cuomo is allowing businesses to not pay taxes for 10 years on new businesses. SO that got DePaul organization to thinking they can open a nut house...housing 100 individuals and their trashy bf or gf in the same apartment. I mean, these are severely mentally impaired nut bags and the complex is in the middle of a residential area with only a six foot high fence around the complex. NO training of staff and no idea what their medical training will be in order to work there. This is a ticking time bomb in this neighborhood and they are going to be here for 10 yrs without paying any taxes while RE taxes are skyrocketing.
SO pissed off over having these severely crazy people around a lot of kids with a park directly across the street from this building now being built.
Anyway...pot is now goingto be available so maybe they can mainline it to these nut sacks and mellow them out big time so they wont rape and murder the little boys and girls running around the streets.

  5. if the doc agree to your cannabis use why not get a green card and hit up the dispensaries?

  6. There have been some studies done that showed no drop in Viral Load from cannabinoids but a significant increase in T4 and T8 cells.

    :hello:  :yay:

A total of 67 HIV-positive patients participated in
this randomized, placebo-controlled trial over 25
days (4 days lead-in and 21 days inpatient
treatment) whose primary objective was to
determine the short-term effect of cannabis on the
viral load in HIV-infected patients. Participants
were at least 18 years old, experienced marijuana
users, and were on stable antiretroviral protease
inhibitor regimens with indinavir or nelinavir.
None of them smoked marijuana or ingested
cannabinoids within 30 days of enrollment.
Patients taking nefinavir and indinavir were
stratified and allocated into 3 different groups:
    marijuana, dronabinol, and placebo. The
marijuana group (n = 22) smoked up to three
3.95% THC marijuana cigarettes 1 hour before
meals daily, as tolerated. Dronabinol (n = 20) and
    placebo (n = 20) groups received either 2.5 mg
dronabinol or placebo capsules 3 times daily
before meals. HIV RNA level was monitored at
    baseline, days 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 19, and 21. CD4+
and CD8+ cell counts were collected at baseline
and every 7 days. Five patients left the study prior
to day 14 and 14 completed the trial. Results
showed no significant impact from cannabinoids
on HIV RNA level. Both cannabinoid groups had
increased CD4+ and CD8+ cell counts, compared
with placebo group, indicating benefit rather than
    harm. Pharmacokinetics of both protease
inhibitors were also unaffected by cannabinoid
exposures. Significant increases in weight gain
    occurred in both the dronabinol (median = 3.2 kg;
range -1.4 to 7.6 kg) and marijuana (median = 3.0
kg; range -0.75 to 8.6 kg) groups.

  7. MINNESOTA HIV/AIDS DOCTORS NOT CERTIFYING FOR REGISTRY!!

    Hello.

It is May 14, 2015.  The Minnesota Medical Marijuana Program will be accepting patient registrations and Doctor certifications in just two weeks, June 1, 2015 and medicine will be available on July 1st, 2015.

I am an AIDS patient.  I have called my doctor and 10 others and local support groups and NONE are planning on certifying patients to enter the program.

Many Docs and Clinics say they have no information from the State Dept. of Health on the process.  Some say they will not participate due to Federal laws.  A few think only HIV/AIDS patients with Wasting Syndrome qualify (not true, just a diagnosis of HIV and/or AIDS).

This is not good.  Access to medicine seems to be going to become a very big problem here in Minnesota.

Does anyone have any information to help?

    Peace and Good Health.
