Newbie Wants to Grow Outside

Discussion in 'Greenhouses' started by Blondey90, Mar 11, 2014.

  1. Hey, so I'm thinking about starting to grow. At first I was going to turn our relatively unused, yet insulated shed into a grow room. Then I read how flipping much outdoor plants can produce. Pounds of herb...
So I'm thinking of getting a greenhouse, a pop up one like this: amzn.to/1i1NdG3
We live in a small suburb community. But our backyard is relatively isolated, surrounded by trees and a stream. We really only have one neighbor who can see into our backyard but they're elderly and generally don't leave the house.
I am planning on growing organic using Jerry's recipe as a jumping off point, obviously growing in a pot. (the soil here is rocky and clay filled).
I live in the PNW, Western WA to be exact.
What I was wondering was if I need to plant at a certain time? Or if their is anything I should know?
I don't know to ask really.
I am a total newb, please help me.
    Thanks!!! :smoke:

You are going to want to make a Greenhouse it's relatively cheap vs buying one.... Old Carports make great greenhouses a few people on this site do use them with great success.

Are you starting from seeds or clones?

I would put the plants outside during the first week of June... But I would start them around april indoors to get a head start.

  5. I don't have time to build one. Plus, I'm a renter with pretty small back yard (total yard is probably 20x20, but the actual usable space is like less than a third of that).
It makes more sense for me in my situation to buy a pop up one to use for a season and then put away, than to build one.
I'm doing seeds, I've heard you get bigger plants that way. I've been talking with another blade who actually lives within a couple hours of me, so he knows the climate.
I'm thinking Critical Jack, Blue Cheese, and Polar Express. Maybe a Chocoloupe or GDP as well, idk.
I want to start out small, 5 plants (preferably less). So I can get the hang of it before I start a full size grow.

  6.
Sounds awesome! This is really only my 2nd year growing. Haven't tried that many strains yet. Best of luck to you.

  7. Id grow inside.

Too much risk as a renter imo.

Plus, you never know whos gonna rob you.

Ive seen neighbors baby their plants for months and two weeks before harvest they go to the store for milk and some tweaker steals their shit.

    Jus sayin.

    Plusold people are cop callers.

Think it through. A few plants grow nicely in a basement, bathroom, or closet.

    Peace
