    Hello all.

This is my first topic on the forum, so what better way to start it off than to talk about my first bong. I recently purchased it from, as the title states, a guy on Craigslist. As it was Craigslist, to be safe when meeting the guy for the purchase I brought a friend along with me, which I recommend everyone do.

So on to the actual piece. It is a 15" stemless double honeycomb to turbine. Has a blue base and a very thick blue flare at the top where you put your mouth. This next part was probably my favorite. The glass is 9mm thick, blown by a local blower, known as Heisman, in the SF Bay Area. Being as this is my first bong, I was super excited to know that my bong would be just that extra bit safer in case I or one of my friends were to accidentally tip it over.

The guy who I bought the bong from ended up being super chill. He advertised the bong for $130 I believe, but I was able to talk him down to $120 and he even included a nice padded bong bag for free.

He let us test the piece with water and see how we liked it. Obviously, we liked it quite a bit. But upon pouring water in, I noticed some sort of plant material floating in between the two honeycombs. I didn't say anything as I assumed that the bong was just dirty and that I would be able to get them out after a good cleaning.

For the most part, I was right. I have been able to get most of the material out of the space between the honeycombs, but there still remain about 5 stubborn foreign material (can be seen in pictures) that just float around each time I put water in the bong. They don't interfere with performance as far as I can tell, they just look kind of ugly to me. I've asked my friends what they think and most have said they didn't even notice them.

My two questions to everybody reading this:

Has you ever had this problem with material being stuck in between percs, and if so how did you get it out?

And of course, what everyone asks, How did I do?

    Thanks all
    Finally the pics:

You didn't do bad but you could have done better, realistically that thing is only worth it because of the colors IMO since finding a nice minimally colored piece in the exact color scheme you want can be argued to be worth a nice value within itself, you could have gotten a thicker piece brand new for like the same price but again the color scheme.

As far as getting the little crud out in between the percs goes your best bet is to try and use a thin enough stick to go into the perc holes and try to fish them out, but gl with that, your gona need something 16 inches lol.

  5. Haha wow same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was trying to hard to get it out and gave up. A few days ago I was high and it just clicked me, why not burn whatever is in there haha. I just took my dab torch and burned the glass by where the stuff got stuck( This is a triple honeycomb perc) and bamn it cooked the stuck bud in there to ash and came right out. :)

  6. A lot of salt and alcohol. Shake the bong until the plant material breaks up.

  7. its probably resin, them pieces are hard to keep spotless. i would suggest a soak in simple green or grunge off. not sure if salt fine enough to go through holes will be abrasive enough.

@ Dorian: there is glass thicker than 9mm? I feel like that might be over kill, haha. And I looked online and found the exact piece I have, same blower and everything and it was being sold for $250. So I'm not complaining, but thanks for your input man.

@ chris: Holy shit, I would have never though of that. I'll probably try it in the next couple days. If it works like it did for you I would be forever indebted to you. I have a couple questions though. Were any marks or smudges of some sort left on the glass from the heating process? And did you heat it while it was dry or with water in the piece? Thanks again. Hopefully it works.

@ moreherb and phunk: yeah I tried the alcohol with salt and after several runs, for the most part everything came out. It's just the bigger pieces that are left now that I have absolutely no idea how they even got in there in the first place haha.

@ phunk: simple green is all I use now since I didn't like the smell that would stay behind from the alcohol, even after rinsing with warm water. What I did was I got a cylindrical bucket, like the painters ones you can find at Home Depot, diluted the simple green with water about 1:4 and just dunk it in there after every sesh (I don't like hitting a dirty piece), also filled a small bowl with the 100% simple green and do the same thing with my bowls and carbon filter. Let it sit for as long as needed then give it a warm water rinse in the tub.

  9. for 120 i wudnt buy it.

  11. It doesn't get any more nasty then what happens when you light weed in a bowl. I did it with water below where I was heating and as I would heat I would be clearing to add force. It worked for me really quick! It has to be burnable material stuck though. Gl!

  12. It's a given that it's not $120 worth
