[PICS] Is this stuff dank or sprayed?

    I need the experienced stoners to help me out and give me a peace of mind.
     
    I bought from a friend some bud a couple months back that smelled really chemically (smelled really strong throughout the apt) when burned and tasted horrible. After almost finishing a bowl, I texted him it was unsmokable, he stopped by, apologized the quality wasn't to my liking and gave my money back. It was really gritty, too. I looked online for stuff on contaminated bud and came to figure it maybe had more to do with poor flushing or whatnot. I even soaked a little piece in water, and there was no rainbow/oily residue on the surface after a couple days of soaking (I saw a video on YouTube that showed an oily residue on the surface of the water the bud had been sitting in, indicating it had been sprayed with something).
     
    Lately, I've heard of fiberglass weed or an industrial "etchant spray" sprayed on bud to get it to weigh more. I've smoked for a while now and always thought I knew good bud when I saw it, but I guess I don't know enough about what it should look like up close given there is apparently stealthier ways to hide it now. I took these pics in macro to get as detailed a pic as I could from different angles.
     
    In the pics, does this stuff I just picked up look normal, or does it look strange? The logical side of me says that a dealer (and even the grower) is risking some serious repercussions not only to his business, but perhaps to his own livelihood (when you mess with people's health, you are in for it). It may be a way to weigh down the weed, but in the end, it will mean doom for your business, especially if people are getting sick. This is an obvious logical conclusion that many of us use in arguments for the legalization and safety of bud and other drugs. Drug dealing and growing is just business, and businesses care about thier customers by producing a quaity product or else lose to the competition and eventually be removed from the market all together.
     
    Bought this bag from my brother yesterday, and he and his guy are really ethical people and have a small cirlce they sell to. So, seems more like a scare than reality, but I'd like some of your thoughts on the stuff I just picked up just in case I need to let my brother know. Thanks.

    Next time, try tasting a tiny piece of the weed! Our tongues are mini-laboratories. There are a lot of poisonous plants, and our ancestors learned to taste a tiny piece of the prospective food plant and evaluate it- does it burn or taste nasty? Spit it out and try a different plant!
     
    Now, cannabis can be fruity, spicy, "grassy", or even peppery, but it does NOT taste like the bottom of a Monsanto test tube! :p

    I helped find a quarter for a friend from out of town, and the first thing he did was taste a piece of a nug. I had no idea why he did it at the time but this is really interesting.

    What he said :) i always taste a small piece of the weed and rub some on my tongue/gums. If your tongue or gums get numb its mixed with another drug and if it is sprayed you should be able to detect the chemical taste in the buds.
     
    we cant tell if theyre sprayed or not from a picture

    Looks good to me mate! I need to post some photos of my stuff because it has me wondering. Got some really great AK-47 but on the bud there are little leaves not trimmed with almost a white resin/powder on it. Ive seen nugs with good thc crystals but this is like a white powder. Throat has had this dull pain lately ONLY when I'm smoking this stuff but I can still feel it when I'm not smoking just very mild.
