Does the development of Ebonics in the black community annoy or anger anyone else? I understand its typically trending in north america among the newer, younger generation. But does it anger anyone else? I honestly see it as dumbed down english, displaying a lack of education more often than not. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
vanilla ice coined the phrase "word to your mother" up until that point it had been "word to THE mother", meaning africa. there's some incredibly hilarious verbal developments out there like down here everybody's all WHAT IT DO what up wit it cuz my favorite ebonics phrase to date comes from a conversation in a club in downtown, where this girl is dancing, and this dude is like EY! EY! DAT YO GURL? YOU KNOW DAT GURL? EY! ASK HER WUT DAT BOOTY DO! everytime i see a girl now i wanna be like excuse me miss, do you do a booty do? also, i totally picture a bunch of GOP ogres huddled around a table in a smokey cavern deep beneath the earth's crust, sullenly sitting through a "development of ebonics" powerpoint while eating baby animals

i just heard on NPR that the work "ask" is just a bastardized slang version of the original word "axe" BAM AXE ABOUT IT
I live near chicago and to me its just like an accent. On the southside everyone talks like tht all the way from children to grandparents. It has nothing to with education its just the way some people talk
I disregard 99.8% of the people that speak that shit. All my black friends don't even talk like that, we usually laugh at white people who do.
