I'm fairly new to smoking and I've notice all kinds of percs. I understand what they do I'm just curious how they work. Specifically: Domes Trees Honeycombs

They are like small bongs inside of bongs. Domes, trees, and honeycombs all function similarly, but have a different design. Domes give larger bubbles, so it would be like smoking a bong through a bigger bong. Honeycomb percs (especially the well-made expensive ones) produce many smaller bubbles, giving a smoother hit. Therefore, a 1/2 foot bong with a honeycomb, or "showerhead" perc should hit about as well, if not smoother, than a regular 1 ft bong.
He gets it. Look at that link, it has a diagram showing you how trees work. The dome perc will be the same concept. The honeycomb doesn't make the smoke go up then down again thru water, more or less its just a barrier that the smoke has to get thru. But keep looking, you'll find much more fascinating percs than those
They add more diffusion, often leading to a smoother hit. Although you can have too much diffusion where it will add a lot of drag to your hits. You need to find the sweet spot/your preference.
Same thing as ice bongs right? They smoothen hits up? I have an ice bong and got a 11 arm perc yet I didn't know the idea behind them I thought they smoothen hits that's why I got a perc and ice bong
The ice catch makes it easier to put ice cubes in. It cools the smoke, but under optimal conditions you should put some big cubes in first, then smaller and/or crushed ice cubes on top. The only inconvenience is after a few good hits your bong and percs are overflowing and making a mess
thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind I can't start smoking for another 2 weeks or so but when I can it's going to be awesome. Only reason I bought the bong when I can't smoke is because I got it online and they were running low on the bong I wanted I think.
