First time poster! I've been smoking for about 6 months using your typical glass piece. I have been hearing about vaporizers, but being that I live at home I couldn't go all out and get the ones that create the giant bag so I started looking for a pen. Everything I read said to be very careful about which one you buy as there are a lot of crummy ones out there. I did my research and ended on the Power-pen. I've been using it for about 2 days now. If I fill the tip I get about 3-5 hits (And this is with a VERY small amount of weed). This thing is fantastic, best $50 I have ever spent. I'm considering getting into Oil for it, but I'm not sure how to go about buying that (price per Quantity). Also what exactly is wax? I've heard wax is good for Vaporizers and I know there is a tip I got for Wax.

I guess I made this post to talk up the vaporizer I got, and to exclaim how happy I am with it. I'm still living at home, so I needed something discrete as I have parents who are still living in the past when it comes to opinions on weed.

Questions I have. How many hits do you typically get with your Vaporizer when using a dry herb tip?. Is using the dry herb tip still healthier than using a typical bowl?

  2. How can you tell if your pen is vaporizing your dry herb or combusting it?

I guess I can't. Assuming that it's dry herb basically just being heated up, I don't think any combustion goes on. But that's just an assumption.

EDIT: After looking into it, It DOES combust the herb.

Yup.     All pens do with the exception of the T-Vape (I've heard) and possibly, the upcoming Grasshopper.

  5. you said "so I needed something discrete as I have parents who are still living in the past when it comes to opinions on weed." - they might not see it but the smell out of what your using (even more so if using oil) is pretty strong lol. just a heads up as i know the feeling of becoming used to the smells where i don't smell anything but in reality i REEEKKK lol.

    later.

  6. So I should probably still be smoking it out the window due to the smell still being the same because of combustion. I can't get weed in oil form, so I guess I just bought a more convenient bowl. Darn..

  7. ~160 or less you can get an Arizer solo (a little big - think red bull can with a thick straw) the thing is a beast with variable temperature control, all glass vapor trail and probably the most efficiently portable....
~100 or a little less the magic flight launch box is a smaller, kind of the entry level into portable vaping for dry herb and being worth it's cost.

It gets more expensive from there... You could always invest in a vapor genie pipe too for around 50 dollars - a learning curve but works extremely well when you figure out your sweet spot. Smell is minimal but existent with all of the vapes - smell dissipates quickly compared to smoke

  8. Great post, but I'd add the Lotus in there as well.    For the money, it's pretty hard to beat, especially when you run it through a water pipe.
