  1. It's time!! B)

  2. Pssst... *whispers* hello?? Anyone home?

  3. Sorry, guys. I really dropped the ball on this thread. The last 6 months have had me all over the place, and I really couldn't have planned for any of it. I had a great time over the summer with my lover in England, even if the cost was being away from my "other" girls. As you know, they spent some time with another caretaker who did an "okay" job of taking care of them in my absence. The biggest issue was not keeping them cool enough during the hot days of summer. The crop should be okay - just not completely up to Carlo standards.

Anyways,  harvest is set for the first weekend of September. I WILL have pictures of them for you all. In the case that you forgot what I was even growing, there will be 2 Latifah girls and one Detroit Badass that is really lagging behind the other two. I'm actually not expecting much off of it. But as I stated, I couldn't really do much for any of the girls in terms of care while I was gone.

Currently I'm back in the states and have moved to start a new job. The lady and myself are still seeing each other and working on a more permanent plan for the two of us. While I can't make any promises, I should have another grow up and running sometime this winter.

I can't wait to get my hands of some good ol' Latifah :yummy: :yummy: :smoking:

  4. Welcome back man! Hope ya saw some good stuff out there....sounds like ya did. I got some of GJs Orange K(r)ush going into flower right now. He told me that he's also working on some new stuff as well.

  5. Definitely dropped the ball again. But this time the apology comes with budporn! We decided that chop needed to be pushed back a couple of weeks because Latifah is still pushing out a lot of white hairs - almost like a second wind. She's added some MAJOR weight and the frost is starting to come along. I'm hoping for more THC production because right now it seems to be a little behind, but I have faith in this beauty of a plant :smoke:

    Thanks, guys! @mmRGreenJeans @Dumdumdummy @dlsmokes

I'm long overdue for an update, as usual. Life just keeps getting busier and now it is officially bow season so my weekends are spent out in the woods.

Latifah is still going strong and is now starting to pack on the resin, as well as more weight. A little more than a month ago, she got treated to some TM-7 and it really looks as if it started to allow the plant to take up nutrients that it was otherwise not getting a full serving of. I think that was the cause of the "second wind" and I'm thankful.

There are two clear phenotypes that have shown themselves with maturity. I know 'Tifah is Sativa leaning to begin with, but pheno 1 is the sativa leaning, sativa leaner :smoke:  Tall, monsterous buds with foxtails all over the place. This is a bud in the "trashy" area of the plant. This term isn't meant to be negative, so I'll explain with another picture. But you can definitely see the sativa bud structure coming out here.

Did I mention that this bitch is tall? And huge? :yay: My hands looks a little funky (and I don't have chubby little stubs as it may seem in this shot) but I just want to be clear in stating that this tower of bud is bigger than my clinched fist.

Here's pheno #2 - it has a stockier build and round, thick buds. It branched out better than #1 after a topping. However, both plants, perhaps not given enough recovery time because of my travels, did not respond too well to topping. As such, I was left with branching that is not my typical style. In the second picture you can see the "trashy" area on the left (sativa pheno) that resulted from mini-branches. They are still producing some heavy, dense bud though.

Both ladies - not the prettiest plants I've ever grown - or more accurately have someone grow for me - but they are looking good now that they are near the finish line.

The Detroit Badass was a runt, probably because of mistreatment. However, it did still produce some fairly dense baby buds. I took it down and boxed it up for some drying. I sampled it two weeks ago and it made me completely stupid, so I'm anxious to see what it has to offer now :smoking:

  10. Hey bro! Good to see you're doing good out there. Yep, the season is upon us man. I don't have a tag for anything but I'm still hoping to get out and see the seasonal change.

    The girls look amazing man!

  11.
I had quite the opening weekend. On Sunday morning, I had a small doe spend 15 mins or so directly under my stand as it fed. Then a small 8 point came and did the same thing. While I was watching him, I heard some sticks break and saw a bruiser bedding down across the creek in a thicket. I watched him for 45 mins or so, grunted a few times while the small buck was around, and just couldn't get him to budge. I realized he was never going to cross the creek, so I waited for him to get up and then I made my move. I snuck out of my stand with bow in hand as he turned around and starting making a scrape. Crouched, I moved a few yards at a time behind trees, peeking out whenever he turned around and moving again. Eventually got to 25 yards or so - a chipshot - got a perfect broadside look, let it fly. I shoot an older bow and this old guy jumped my string and dropped just enough so that my arrow cleanly missed high. I was absolutely devastated - he was 150 inches and the biggest buck I've ever pointed my bow at. I'll never see him again

But there's always next weekend :smoke:

  12. Man....sorry about the shot! I can't even imagine the let down that would be for me. I've never been able to stalk anything less than 100 yds at least. Getting that close, heart pounding, eyes blurring. That's how I imagine it would be for me. I hope it was peaceful put there at least. :)

  13. Here's my attempt at a shot through a jeweler's loop of an early Latifah tester

  14. Not that anyone still follows this thread, but JUST in case.

The girls were chopped this past weekend. Ran into a little bit of rot in the monster plant because of its density, but it didn't get the chance to spread far. That said, we salvaged a fair amount of bud anyways. Sad part is that I have to share around half with my partner, on an already sub-par crop. I didn't have the control that I usually have, and I hate to point fingers, but I know had more control been mine, the plants would've turned out better. Overall, I think some environmental stress got to them - moving the cabinet, heat, light cycle interruption. On my watch none of these things happen, but again, I can't complain about someone helping me out.
The goal for the next run, before the cabinet comes back to me, is to dedicate an entire room and pool some equipment to do things right and on a larger scale. Once that is up and running, I'll be the brains of the operation while still having my own small setup.

I'll be back next week with some pictures of the dried and trimmed Tifah!

  15. And since I don't have any buds to show off, this places needs some tunage!
