  3. Here you go, below is an old post within a post, from BadKat. To make medicated pancakes, first you need to make canna oil. Making canna pancakes is as easy as adding canna oil to the batter in place of the oil or butter already called for by your recipe or boxed mix.

Don't just toss weed into pancake batter!

Activating the herb and making oil is the best use of your time and your bud. Making oil is the most efficient way to pull the potency out and it divides individual cannabinoids from larger clumps and clusters, converting the potency you're after into a form your body can actually absorb it. A properly made oil is going to give you the best effect, and even if you don't have the time for good oil, it's still the process you want to use as best as you can with what time you do have.
The less time you have the more important it is to work with a fast and efficient edible solvent. Don't be fooled into thinking it will be faster just to mix the herb in with the batter and let it sit for a few minutes.. instead, let your herb use those minutes in hot oil, while you get started making the batter with your other ingredients! It's just shooting yourself in the foot, by hoping that an infinitely weaker and diluted extraction solution (like pancake batter) will do the work, especially if you plan on cutting corners on the time frame and process too.... if time is really an issue and you can't perform a complete extraction, follow the steps to make oil, go as far as you can, then just mix in and eat the herb too instead of straining it from the oil you've made.

Stopping short while making oil and including the ground herb, is much better than not even attempting to make oil with the herb; your body will be able to do more with it, and after the decarb step it's easy to powder it up... you'll hardly notice it in a flour based treat. It's far from ideal, but if you can't make yourself wait for a day when you have a little more time to sit back and relax while your oil gets ready for you, then at least beginning the process and including the oily herb in the batter is the best course of action, much better than a firecracker, or adding bud to a recipe and just hoping it will turn out.

These are just a few tips Kat has given me to pass along.  :)

Also remember that in terms of heat exposure, it's better for your oil to be cooked into a brownie or a similar baked recipe. The indirect heat exposure your oil endures inside an oven is less extreme, than making contact with a pan touching the heat source, but don't worry: making pancakes won't totally destroy your potency, far from it. Just keep an eye on them, don't leave them on the pan too long, flip them prematurely rather than too late, and you'll be OK.

As her health improves which it fortunately is, we're expecting VERY big things this spring from Kat, she's already scheduled to appear and speak at nearly a dozen different festivals and caregiver tradeshows!  :hello:)

The links provided below will help you immensely along your path to good oil and butter, I've also included the post where Kat shared the simple pancake recipe... good luck and be well!

Made with bacon, sausage, egg, and swiss & cheddar cheeses, using pre-made sativa hash capsules, made following the standard hash oil/capsule recipe.

One sandwich made with a Basil Hash Oil Mayo (that was mine!), the other with the capsule, simply squeezed and spread on the inside of the toast.

  5. Well now you've got the recipe, AND the oil tutorials required to make them... what else were you looking for? :p :) Q.

  6.
Making edibles using oils/butter usually takes a little preparation and it sounds like you just want something easy that you can try out and with just a box of pancake mix, it doesn't sound like you're quite ready for the recipe above or the commercial that followed it. You might want to try your hand at something simple at first just to get acquainted with edibles.

If you have a convenience store in your area just grab some peanut butter and crackers and make firecrackers. I've never made one because I hate peanut butter but there are a number of threads about it. Good luck.  :)

  9. haha okay
i've heard that for some people firecrackers don't work and sometimes edibles in general don't work for some people though, so is there anything i can do to actually make it work? I'm limited on bud /:

  10. What's your definition of "limited"?

  11. LOL My first thought was: with some good maple syrup lol. There are a lot of options. Read some of PsychedelicSam's and BadKitty's posts. They got it figured out.

  13.  Making canna oil is not only incredibly easy, but an oil carrier (particularly one containing the same triglycerides used in pharmaceuticals, which can be found in butter and coconut oil) is the most proven and effective way of getting virtually any chemical substance into your bloodstream, even including chemicals that are insoluble in oil, and especially the oil soluble components of cannabis glandular material.

That's why we go to the bother of making oil. Not just for fun, which it actually is, or just because adding herb to batter isn't mentally stimulating enough. We do it, so we can digest and absorb more than a fraction of the potency in our herb.

It's why the rumors used to be, that you needed many times the herb just to get the same effect as smoking... yes, that's all too true, when you don't bother making your edibles in the way that your body needs.

In reality, edibles are the much more efficient route, but you do need to activate and extract that potency then deliver it in a way that your body can use it.

And again.. making oil... is.... EASY.

After a while it's almost boring, it's so easy... it involves about ten minutes in the kitchen, then the "worst part" is watching a few movies, reading a book, smoking bongs, or hanging out with friends while you wait for the oil to quietly do its thing. Done properly, it doesn't even smell. With a toaster oven, you can complete the entirety of the process in a small closet, in private.

A truly tough ordeal, eh? :D

Making oil, and following tutorials, is easy! Don't let the people who haven't done the simple reading convince you otherwise!

It's not a lot of effort at all, even during the ten or so minutes you actually have to do anything. It just requires waiting, once you've started. So with that in mind, instead of waiting until the very moment you're starving and you want to eat your edible, rather than putting it off until the late afternoon or waiting to make both your oil and your edible impulsively on the same day you want to eat it, instead, just start in the morning or around noon, or even make your oil the day before and use it at your leisure.

All things cannabis aside: learning to utilize a little patience and having the foresight to plan any activity appropriately in advance, whatever that activity may be, these are valuable tools and important abilities for any adult to practice.

I'm not sure why a few people still seem to think putting herb in an oven covered in oil is difficult, but they have their own opinions and I'm sure they face their own challenges in the kitchen, so there must be a reason they would suggest something that is equally as easy but much less than effective, or peanut butter of all things (an incredibly inferior solvent, containing not only half fat, but also none of the fatty acids one is looking for when processing cannabis in oil) over the proper oil, to each their own, users with experience know what works best and all we can do is point you folks in the right direction so you have a good time, so you can medicate with success, and so you get the most from your herb.

Grandmothers who have never used cannabis before and who have had to slow down in the kitchen, regularly comprehend and follow the same tutorials I provided. These are tutorials that parents, who are completely foreign to everything "weed", are using with their children. 1.Grind weed, 2.heat covered in oven, 3.cool, 4.cover in oil, 5.heat again, 6.repeat step 5 as needed for desired effect... that doesn't sound so bad, now does it. :)

If the steps are difficult for anyone to keep up with, I'm sure it wouldn't be too much trouble to run and quickly ask a girlfriend or a parent to give a quick course on how the oven works. I know it's a lot to handle, usually there's a button, or a dial on there somewhere, some temperature settings... that's a lot to think about. :p Hehe.

I found the specific canna pancake recipe in less than a second with ***drum roll*** the search feature.   Found dozens of threads on canna pancakes, actually!

Based on that, we assumed that someone needed some more information simply because there are so many recipes and so many previous posts available, specifically on the topic of canna pancakes. It seemed like they must not be what he needed, since just reading one of those would have saved OP the hours it took for a reply to come about. If that's all he needed, then following one of the recipes already available probably would have been easy peesy, and would have saved people some time in here including OP himself. But since the search feature didn't suffice, and the pancake thread was created again, then helpful elaboration on the steps required to make oil and pancakes was 100% appropriate.  :)

Now, if you wanted a picture of pancakes specifically, rather than just the oil used to make them, sorry to disappoint... all I have are two different varieties of some quick, medicated, gluten free crepes. :D Chestnut flour on the right, coconut flour on the left. ;)

  16. Get some coconut oil and make a single serving of canna-oil. There's a thread on here somewhere with the times and temp. Just make sure your oven is accurate.

  17. cool thanks :D i'm going to start growing actually
