Hey bigrahizzle, unfortunately our state doesnt have any sort of people's petition to change. Its all up to the politicians themselves. You can talk to them about it but they may never be interested in your ideas. But this is one way to keep bugging them about it!

Me personally i would love to see it legalized completely. But when you tax and regulate a plant as harmless as this beyond age requirement, it may not be the kind of legalization we had hoped for. A lot of people are happy about colorado and washington but disapprove of overtaxing. I would say though, that tax money would be inmense in virginia!

  4. All of our legislators have always been prudes with not one of then brave enough to step up to the plate for Mary Jane. VA will be the last state to legalize. There was a protest (of about seven people) this past Monday against legislation that would make marijuana penalties more severe. That's right, the rest of the country is in a time of progression and reform and Virginia is the only state actively trying to move BACKWARDS.

That's a great way to describe this state though, BACKWARDS.

Yes. Virginia definitely needs an organized push, especially considering the recent DC  regulations that don't effect the rest of the state.

  6. We don't have a politician brave enough to step up. Everyone wants to see what the other guys are going to do. No bravery.

  7. Our state rep, Delegate Bob Marshall takes money from Altria, a tobacco company. My local NORML director emailed him about consideration for legalizing marijuana. I've seen the reply letter and they're still bringing up reefer madness ideology. Unfortunately, he's pretty much our only chance right now. But since he is totally not in support of legalization, it's a steep uphill battle we have to face.

Here is Del. Bob Marshall's page. Feel free to contact him via email or written letter, and see what kind of response you'd get.
