Hello guys, I am new to this site also starting my first grow, to start off lots of things seem to be going wrong & good at the same time, My plants are looking healthy-ish other then the fact that they might be showing some signs of deficiency or could be something I am doing wrong, "I'm a new grower anything could go wrong" With that being said, I am currently using 2 23w 100 equiv. CFL's 6500k, Brought down from 7 bulbs which included 5 23w 6500k & 2 26w 2700k CFL due to signs of stress & possible light burn. 1 120MM intake fan, 2 exhaust 120MM fans & an extra intake Ps3 fan on the very top. My 2 babys have been growing very slow since about the 2 week mark, began with purple stems which have gone away since, now they seem to have brown tips on the bottom leafs & very slow growth, would appreciate some advice on what I can do. Soil: MG Organic - 10-5-5 NPK, They were transplanted about a week ago, One is showing signs of over feed. Will hopefully be feeding soon, I will be using Recipe for Success: Starter kit. Light cycle is currently at 24/0 today will be the first night since the change from 18/6. They are about 22 days old, which from looking at other peoples grow they are quite small for their age. Please give me any advice you have, or feedback, be mean if you have to I am trying my best to have a decent looking grow, I hope I explained everything, thanks [: [Below there's a picture of my current grow box & setup along with my two 'hopefully' girls]
Update: The girls were flushed, they were getting worse, I trimmed the tips of the girls & fed them, let's see if they get better. 'they either had nute burn or nutrient lockout'. Let's hope for the best.
Update: Happy to say, last nights feed/flush did wonders, the girls are loving the nutes, I also built a new little grow spot from a cabinet I found on the side of the street. I now have 4x 6500k 23w cfls, & 1x 26w 2700k cfl. 24 DAYS OLD
Please for the love of cheebus. Dont give them nutes yet!! Especially with miracle grow that HAS nutes in it. They still look too young to start.. usually tap water will get them started for a couple weeks. Id go to the problem/sick plant section and look at all the issues people have had and do the opposite. Make sure not to over water either. Your last pic looks sorta Ill, maybe nitrogen deficiency, along with a bit of nute burn. Just wait a day or two, you want it to be a nice green.. hopefully it gets better. Oh. If you cant afford nutes or just want to keep cheap like me, miracle grow sells plant food in packets. Use a lil of that with a seed starting soil( low if not any nutes), if organic, pop the soil in the oven( look for it in the forums). Unless you want gnats. Yes its messed up but it kills everything. It will stink like wet hot soil. So use that fan. Either way, this forum will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know about the art. Thank you for the advice & the detailed explanation. For the soil it Didn't seem to fit them well at first, but after the first flush & the nutes, they have responded very very well if I can say so myself, weird to say they were looking like the first pictures well before being transferred into the MG & were not being fed at the time, they were growing in cocoir with perlite, as for the bugs etc. I have looked into it checked to see if any mold was growing around the bag & so far no signs of pests (knock on wood). They have shown a lot of new growth WILL POST A PICTURE BELOW. I will be taking your advice, I enjoy learning new things about growing so very well appreciated. I did also read about time release nutes being bad for cannabis plants, it is my first grow & I eventually will learn from my mistakes, let's just hope I can successfully grow my girls. [: Once again thank you on the kind words, it took me quite a while to paint the cabinet & add the components, I like to keep it tidy (making the bottom drawer the veg room after my first grow).
UPDATE: Feb. 13: A lot of new growth, they are loving life! Other then that nothing really new to talk about.
UPDATE: Weird that as a first time grower I have not ran into major problems, guess I got lucky, let's not jinx it. I switched to 18/6 schedule after getting a new timer & there's noticeable new growth where I topped my girl, not sure when I will flower, & I might be feeding every watering. Update: If anyone is reading this, I jinxed myself. One of my girls has started getting large brown spots, attempted to look for a solution but I can't find much of anything. DAY 35. I fed the girls with a full feeding - 3 tsp - B.C. Boost 1 1/2 tsp - B.C. Grow 1/2 tsp - Thrive Alive B-1 red 1/2 tsp - Magical 2 tsp - SugarDaddy They are looking great other then the brown spots, might be a while before flowering, also getting my Exhaust fan & filter tomorrow, pretty excited It's odd that I can smell the cannabis when I Walk in my room, best aroma a room can have. Temperatures: 75-81 RH: 38% Also have an extra girl in there, I don't update her because she's just a little test, if she makes it then good if not it won't be the end of the world. (Suggestions on what my problem could possibly be would be nice, thanks for anyone reading this.)
Who told you that you need all that shit? I think you just nuked the fuck out of you plants. Now the spots could be from phosphorous or potassium deficiency. but who will know after your feeding. It is a weed, iv grown plants with nothing but backyard dirt so be careful with the nutes.
It's what is recommended in the recipe for success starter kit, no need for all the hostility. My plants are loving life & I watered them all with the same nutes and only one has shown any sign of anything for that matter. She has actually grown a lot over her 6 hour lights off. Regardless thank you for posting. Any feedback is appreciated.
Not hostile just curious . It seems like they could put all that stuff in one bottle for you, it makes it sound like a bunch of stuff. If you like mixing up a soup you would love hydro. Its dead simple dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Simpler than the mix you made.
Hydro seems a bit too complicated for a first or even second time grower there's still a lot I need to learn & a lot I want to learn before going into more advanced techniques or methods, & it does seem like a lot, I know the girls love it though haha thanks for the feedback!

yeah....like snoopdogg said....yer' probably showing your first signs of ph'issues and nutrient lockout because you've been adding bottled nutes to your organic soil wich is probably killing off your hyphaphe' and colony forming bacteria and fungi wich in turn breaks down the components of the soil mix making nutrients readily avalible to your plants .....i would flush your pots as soon as you are able to to flush some of the extra nutrients outta' the soil usually when i use bottled nutes i used them sparingly ......remember this ......you can always add if needed with no real negative effects'....now when you start over feeding that's a whole other story .....then you have to try to correctly gauge your issue and fix it ....and 9 times outta' ten most people don't pin down the issue quick enough and thus resulting in damaged and stressed plants......ultimately comprimising your yeild .....just my two cnts
