The UFO Phenomenon - What do you believe?

Discussion in 'Religion, Beliefs and Spirituality' started by Marx, Jan 22, 2014.

  1. I guess I should start off by saying that I myself have never really seen a UFO for sure, I have suspected odd things in the night sky but have never made any conclusions about them..

I have however seen some rather convincing footage all over the internet (More fakes than genuine videos) so my first question to all of you is, have you ever seen a UFO?

For those of you that have, what was it like? What were your initial thoughts? From what I have read, people say that for the most part it is like the biggest mind blow to see something that before that moment would have seemed impossible (sometimes the speed of the craft, the maneuvers, or both).

What I was most curious about though was what kind of impact this type of sighting would have on people. Do there beliefs change? Are most people convinced that that craft must have been alien?

For the most part I just want other peoples opinion on the subject... Are these really alien crafts or perhaps just top secret military hardware?

PS. This might be cause I am stoned quite often...

  2. I feel the same way bro. Ive never seen one at all

  3.
Are you pretty accepting of the idea of ET's?

  4. never saw one but i saw a documentary about majestic 12 that made me wonder if ET's exist. it's interesting to read about. I hope some blades with actual experiences comes to this thread and share there stories.

  5. I believe in UFO's. Theres one in my closet!

I have seen a few UFO's in my life. One as a child, and 2-3 as an adult. The one I saw as a child was the most stereotypical looking, quite similar to the stereotypical 'flying saucer.' However, it was actually the most insane, 'supernatural' experience. I was driving in my brother's truck towards the end of this long driveway. We were having a conversation. As we get up near the end of the driveway, this flying saucer looking object zooms incredibly fast from out of site and then stops directly above and in front of us, and just hovers there. It had various flashing lights, and had what I can only describe as looking like a sun panel on it. It hovered there for a bit, but as it hovered, time literally stopped. The truck stopped moving, I stopped in the middle of a sentence I was speaking, and literally nothing happened as it floated there. It floated for a bit, and then this extremely bright light accumulated and flashed from the UFO, reminding me of the flash of a camera. It then zoomed off in the other direction as fast as it came, and time just snapped back on. I actually completed my sentence that had stopped when it arrived, as if there had been no time lapse at all. After the sentence, I was you know freaking out and asking my brother about it. He said that he never saw it or noticed anything.

My experiences as an adult were of a different nature. First of all, they didn't go along with time apparently stopping, or some such 'supernatural' thing. Another thing, is that the ones I have seen as an adult did not look like typical flying saucers. They were amazing looking, brightly colored, geometric shapes. More like a piece of art that flew in the sky. The timing of the experiences were what was really interesting. It always coincided to me being in this extremely high state of consciousness, in which I was having many experiences of what seemed to be my own consciousness manifesting in my reality. One time for instance, I viewed this picture of this person standing and the sky looked all amazing and altered, and I had this thought 'what if consciousness has that potential to truly alter even the view of something like the sky.' I had that idea in my head, during one of these periods, and then I saw in a car with someone else this UFO that looked like this multi-colored, brightly colored, star of david which flew through the sky. I was with my dad, and I asked him about it. He definitely saw something, but the only response he could muster was one of confusion, like he wasn't sure what he saw or what happened.

The experiences with UFO's I have had in my adulthood lead me to embrace an alternate theory about UFO's. I believe that they are somehow manifested from human consciousness. Somehow an individual, or a group, is able to manifest their consciousness in an apparently external object, and these are what we call 'UFO's.'

  7. Eff ya they're out there. To think we're the most technologically advanced species in the cosmos would be putting us next to God. Never seen one, though reason tells me there must be ETs. There's a video on Youtube of a guy who worked for the (Canadian I think) ministry of defence stating there are two living ETs working with (or being held captive) by the U.S. Not surprising they wouldn't publicize it since this sort of news changes the whole spectrum. They limit the information they put out deliberately to keep you closed. There's also a good documentary called Sirius they have a 7 or so inch specimen of an alien and they test it and yadda yadda. Interestingly they say holding group meditations in remote places at night (or during the day, or not in a remote place, but it makes it easier) they have encounters with ETs doing their thing in the sky.

This news must be as ratifying to a cat whose life was never spent outside and to realize there's dogs and other such creatures.

  8. I've seen an orange orb before, last Christmas.  Whole family saw it, it was extremely bright and large, could not have been a roman candle, it was going against the wind.

  9. I believe that even if we did see a UFO it would not be some type of flying saucer, but instead something way more complex, something we could barely even comprehend. Who knows maybe they are invisible and watching our every move.

  10. I believe there is most likely other life somewhere in the universe, but I don't think we've come into contact with any of yet, hence I don't buy into the whole UFO sighting stuff.

Not only is it practically certain there is other life out there, it is nearly as certain that it's so far away we'll never know about it.

  12. I don't think alien UFO's are here either. Since the closest would be millions of light years, unless they travel way faster then light speed, doubtful that they use some kind of wormhole either. With billions of people on earth were bound to have some UFO nonsense.

  13. theres an infinite amount of space, so yes there has to be some other form of life

Living in New Mexico we have several Air Force bases and a huge scientific community.  We have seen some shit over the years.   I live between Farmington and Shiprock on a mesa overlooking the Rio de San Juan.  We can see for miles.  There is almost no light pollution and we spend a lot of time sky watching.  We see the usual satellites tracking across the sky interspersed with an occasional meteor or two.  But there have been times that we've seen lights that made us scratch our heads.

One time me and my sister were sitting on the tailgate of the pickup and taking in the night.  In Spring the Russian Olives bloom along the river and the fragrance rises up to the mesa.  We were enjoying the moment when I caught movement out of corner of my eye.  I turned my head and saw a formation of seven lights coming from the west flying towards east over the river.  I drew my sister's attention to them and we watched as they flew towards Farmington.  We never heard a sound.  Just before they were out of sight and pretty close to town the lights winked out.

Another time me and my dad were watching a meteor shower and counting the satellites as they passed overhead.  My dad saw one and pointed towards it.  We watched for a couple of seconds and without warning it changed direction.  My dad said, "Did you see that?"  I said I did.  He said, "Good, I guess I didn't have a stroke..."

When I was a kid I spent a lot of time in Gallup and Dulce with relatives.  In Gallup I usually walked around town with my cousins and their friends.  One night we were walking back home to my cousin who lived on Green Ave. near Sacred Heart Cathedral.  As we were taking a shortcut through the cathedral parking lot we saw several people looking up at the sky and pointing.  We joined them to see what was going on and saw a brilliant white light fly over the city.  It was cloudy that night and the light was flying through the clouds lighting them up.  Nobody knew what it was. Several theories were discussed and finally everyone went home with a mystery.  The following day the headlines in the Gallup newspaper said a UFO was seen the previous night.

My aunt (dad's sister) married into the Carson trading post family and her husband was a very wealthy man.  They had a house overlooking a deep canyon.  Their back patio sat on the lip of the canyon and they would relax by the firepit during the evening. There's a cool breeze that comes up the canyon scented with sage and piñon.  I loved that house.  Anyway, one night my aunt called us excited and out of breath.  She was on the patio with one of her sons and saw a cigar shaped wingless craft fly up the canyon and hover near their house.  They said it had multi-colored lights and they could see windows.  They looked at it through the telescope on the patio and said it was metallic and seamless.  No rivets or bolts.  They couldn't see in the windows. They said the light coming from inside was too bright to see anything.   They're both dead now.  But they maintained their story until the end.  I've never known either one of them to lie.  I don't know what to think but I believe they saw something.  A UFO?   I highly doubt it but I'm not a believer in extra-terrestrial visitors.

  15.
Lol how can you not be after all of those encounters?

  16. I've seen about 20 individual single lights spread out over the sky moving slowly.

  17.
Because nothing led me to believe that they are anything more than military aircraft on maneuvers or experimental aircraft on test flights.  You have to take into account the vast distances in space and the completely hostile nature of the universe to understand the improbability of interstellar space travel.

  18. 100% REAL

My mom and dad were born and raised in Peru.  They have seen UFOs plenty of times.
Pictures too, i think there is some type of source from earth they need, so they visit. Even cousins and grandparents have crazy UFO stories i mean, a saucer move up and down at incredibly high rates of speed then left, then right, then disappears.

Lots of sightings in Peru do some research on it
