Hortilux is one of the nicest bulbs out there - and regarding spendy; you get what you pay for and you bought quality. There is alot of crap out there for cheap $, but that's what it is - crap.
Welllllll..... While it IS important for best results, maybe on the density, probably not on the aroma. Concentrate on growing the healthiest plants possible and allow them to fully and completely mature and aroma will come naturally. Genetics also have a lot to do with taste and aroma.
