Sup blades. Was thinking about running another grow journal with the 4 strains I have going atm. I'm running a 600w HPS In a 4x4x6.5 grow tent I'm using 5 gallon buckets My soil is half and half fox farms ocean forest and sunshine mix #4 Using the fox farms nutes. Kangaroot, big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, cha ching, and beastie blooms After growing a few Reserva Privada strains I decided I was going to grow everything I could from RP and DNA. The one I'm most curious about is the DNA kosher tangie, there's not alot of info on it on the web, little to none, but it is said to smell like delicious tangerines. Anyone have and expierience with it? If people would actually like to see this thread turn into a journal just let me know, my last one only had 1 or 2 followers so felt like a waste of time.

Oh shit didn't see you posted haha. Thanks for stopping by man. I'll snap a pic of them tomorrow when its lights on. They're 1 week into 12/12. Switched them a little early cause I need the harvest. Gonna get some more going in a week or two that I can veg out for a bit while these ones flower. Check back for the pic. They're all doing great, healthy as can be haha.

I missed lights on this morning, I'll snap a couple better ones right at lights off tonight. So the hps isn't messing with it.
All of them popped the same day and are 6 weeks from seed, about 10 days into 12/12. If I wasn't on time constraints I would have vegged it out another month maybe more. I'll get a better pic of it for you tonight at lights out.

hey man, big time DNA and Reserva Privada fan right here. I also wanted to see something with that kosher tangie. I'm growing out Tangie next run. I don't know if you've ever had Kosher, but it's possibly one of my favorite smokes out there. And Tangie brought home the cannabis cup, so the mix between the two must be excellent, really looking forward to how this turns out. sub'd in man

11 days into flower now. One month veg from seed. Ignore the broken light haha, it's still perfectly air tight, was shipped to me that way, and is still going for it's 3rd year.
Whattttt I didn't even notice that. Damn man I woulda got another shipped to me if it showed up like that. Is it bulbous to fit a MH or is it error? Not hatin, as long as it works man it's alright like you said 3 years no problem. This is why I opted for an air cooled hood instead of a cool tube though, if I broke the glass out I could just get a new piece made for probably $5. But hey if it ain't "broke" don't fix it right lol
I would have, but I had expensive seedlings stretching like crazy and dieing on me, I had to have the light right then. Its both. I don't have a mh bulb since my last one blew. Won't need it for the rest of the grow though. I plan on upgrading soon. Even though there's no pistils showing, these babies are starting to reeeek haha.
I got a 1000w off eBay for $250 6" air cooled hood with a glass lense, digital dimmable ballast mh/hps. Just shopping around, comparable systems were way more expensive. Just saying, if you upgrade, shop around. This is good stuff I got for a real good price. I just built my same setup on htgsupply for $424.95 no shit. And I opted for the hood pictured. 4x4 area, 150,000 lumens. Can't beat it.
See now you got me thinking. Ive been wanting a 1000w. Just dont know if it and my 600w would be too much power consumption.
Well, I wouldn't use them together in the same room. I see your tent is 4x4x6.5? A 1000w alone would be plenty of light for that area. Then you could use the 600w for somethin else. Perpetual? Lol I'm not sure about the cost of electricity where you live but it costs me $.08 per kWH, so for a 1000w or 1kw uses $.08 per hour of use. 12(hr per day)x56 (days for flower)= 672hrs total for an 8 week flower. 672x$.08=$53.76 to flower any number of plants and get yields of possibly 1g/per watt. Im just saying I can barely tell the difference bill to bill. I have electric heaters that use more power than my 1000w (1400w to be exact). Lol you can do the math with your 600 then add them together, and get a general idea of what you could be looking at with both plus some t5's for the mothers if you wanted to run a perpetual. If not I wouldn't try to run them both unless you got a bigger tent. Even then, it would be like half your crop gets 1000w buds and half gets 600w buds unless you moved them around. Idk man, you got some options. Just wanted to clear up some maybe "misconceptions" about how much it really costs to run a 1000w or any light for that matter.
Well what I really want to do, is get another tent and fan, and that 1000w. I wanna throw that on the girls I got going now and use the 600w with a mh to veg some decent size plants while the current ones are flowering. Only thing is both tents would be in the same room so i'd have to figure out how to block the light from tent to tent. My concern isn't really how much it would cost to run, more on how much suspicion it would raise. I've got everything lined up and ready to move to Colorado this year, I'd hate to get caught up before I could make it.
I totally get the suspicion thing. I worry sometimes too. Wish I was moving to CO. I didn't know your 600 was a digital mh/hps, that changes everything. A 600w for veg and a 1000w for flower, you could run 2 crops at the same time. Like I said I've got 3 of those 1400w heaters blowing 24/7 this time of year, that's way more than 1600w of hps lol you would raise suspicion more likely with 10,000w but not with 1600 I wouldn't think.
