Atheists, do you wish their was a God ???

  1. I think I do.

Back before I lost any semblance of blind faith, I use to pray for other people around me, probably more often than I did myself.

So last night, while loading $200 worth of groceries into my car, this lady comes up to me, looking completely tore up, and homeless, and starts in with her little story, "Sir, I'm sorry to bug you but my car is out of gas...... I live in the next city over....."

Now, I just about never give .02 cents to a panhandler, but for whatever reason, I reach into my pocket, grabbed out all the change, and said, "Here you go". I wanted to tell her, "God bless you"...... But then I thought, "If their was a God, it's obvious he doesn't give a fawk about this lady anyway".

So I told her, "Good luck, getting back home". Like I say, I would have loved to have said a prayer for her..... but if anyone was listening, why would I have to say a prayer for her ? This "all knowing, all loving God has to hear about shit like this from somebody else" ? God can't see WTF is going on directly ?

The obvious answer to all of this, is that God is a fictitious character.

But as I always say, for any of you who have faith in God, please ask him if he can make things "perfectly clear" for this logical, self-thinker.

I'd just love to say I was wrong.

  2. Only if I could design it.

  3.
    Fair enough.

  4.
Depeche Mode ~ Your Own Personal Jesus :) LOL

  5. Not a god , but gods , so there can be the battle of the gods.

  6. I think I do.  It'd have gotten fed up with people making shit up about it and silenced them aeons ago.  But that's just totally selfish of me

  7. She could have put herself in the situation she's in in the life she lives and no I don't wish Yahweh was the a concept that truly ruled over mankind life would be sad as far as I see it Christianity is repressing yourself and to be continuously having an impression of Jesus never to be an individual just a price of the source and to get out of the source means you must die even though you can be your own source and he kills you by creating a place where he chooses to damn those who don't fuck with him he's salty as fuck

as the bible says, earth is like a test so he really can't help us with everything because everything happens for a reason. have a good night, I'll definitely pray for you

  9. I have no reason to.

I wish hell existed so assholes would go there but sadly there isn't. The world is how it is. I can see why some people might need to comfort themselves with some idea that some magic man in the sky will make everything fair in the end but that's not the case

  11. I don't wish there were any gods.  A brief look at the unnecessary pain and suffering in the world and the craziness that ensues around us would reveal this god or gods are quite capricious and even seem to be filled with a degree of malice.  One look at the flaws with creation alone would reveal these gods are a bit incompetent.  Why would I want the universe in which I live to be run by moody, incompetent beings that often have ill will towards me and my fellow forms of life that exist here?

  12. Thank you aL. I don't need help with "everything"...... But if this supreme power could just make himself obvious, for a logical self-thinker like myself, that would b e 95% of the battle....

  13. Believe me bro, I hear you on all of this ^ !

  14. I feel you, I questioned it alot but it just makes sense.. like were we just magically created out of no where? Think about it, if we were just a little closer to the sun we would die of heat, or a little farther we would die from the cold, but somehow we are aligned perfectly.

  15.
That is a very special thing.  We lie in the perfect zone for life.  However, we aren't the only planet in the universe that sits perfectly in this zone for life.  Therefore, our planet isn't actually that special.  We are one of billions that exist within this perfect temperature zone.  And even we were the only planet in this situation, then we still have much to worry about.  For example; giant meteors, super volcanoes, massive earthquakes, greenhouse gases, super solar flares, meteors changing the path of the moon, or the fact that one day the sun will become a red giant star and probably swallow the earth up or at least burn away the atmosphere and scorch the earth...making it void of life.   Things are hardly "perfect."

  16. But if we were aligned just a little closer or farther we would die... ALthough there are natural disasters I think that is naturally occuring and nobody can change that.

  17. I certainly hope not..  that would make him an evil overlord over all existence.

  18.
I know this.  What I'm saying is that it isn't all that rare.  There are so many planets in the universe that we could live on that are precisely in that safe region.  So what I'm saying, is that our planet actually isn't all that special since there are so many like it.
