  1. maybe it's different or they just know what they're doing better but when I was in Vegas last winter I could barely even smell it. Maybe they have bigger air handlers.

AW has been very lucky on that specific machine it seems - it's all chance but jeez - that's a lot of cash out of one machine the last couple times he's gone.

Good morning peeps. So we have what I'm told is one of the only remaining grass strip air fields/runways for light planes left in Maine through the woods maybe a half mile from me. Every summer they do what they call a "Fly-In" for us neighborhood folks. All kinds of cool old planes get together, there's stuff for the kids to do, food, etc - kind of a very mini one day country fair I guess, and today is the day so we will head over there for a couple hours later. They do a flea market kind of deal too so we are gonna see if we can find some more vinyl for my middle daughters new record player. I've seen stacks of records there in past years. She has been using it a lot but needs more material. I'm kinda psyched that she's been using it as much as she has - it's kind of a lost style of listening to music these days and especially for her (17 yrs old) age group.
A couple years ago we had a little 2 seater bi plane just cruising around the neighborhood early in the morning when we were sitting out on our porch having coffee. I could hear his motor kind of sputtering and next thing I knew I heard him crash into the woods not too far from the house. My neighbor came running down "Hey, did you see that?!" So we hopped on our 4 wheelers and hit the power line trails to try and find the crashed plane. We found the plane way, way up in a huge old pine tree - he had just missed hitting the actual power lines. The dude was just climbing down the tree and the plane was just barely holding on in the big ol' pine tree. What a lucky guy - I was certainly fearing the worst when we went to search for him. Who knows what you'll find at a small plane crash site.

Anyhoo - hope y'all are planning something fun for today! Summer is almost over - what the heck. It's chilly out here right now. Sweatshirt weather.

Found some classic vinyl at the Fly In yesterday. More nostalgic than anything but at 3 for a dollar I kinda couldn't go wrong lol - really old Elvis from when he was like 19-20, Monkees, Supremes, Dylan, Doors. What a nice day yesterday. There were more cool little planes than I've ever remembered being there. When the kids were younger they used to have fun with a empty bag at the candy drop - but they didn't do it this year. One of the planes would come in low and slow and dump out a trash barrel full of candy - what a blast for the kids - candy raining down out of the sky.

May never listen to the old Elvis - that was more Dad than my era but still kinda cool to have in the stack at three for a buck. I thought it was kinda funny how young he was; back when he was making those silly old movies.

Bringing kiddo back up to college today - makes me feel like summer is pretty much over.

    Morning Dub & Crew.

  5. Oh man Jerry...I remember those silly old movies Elvis made back in the 60's. It was a big deal to go to the matinee in downtown Caribou on a Saturday. 25 cents for the ticket and another quarter would get you popcorn, candy, and soda. I still listen to the Kang every once in awhile.

And the Monkees! We never missed their Saturday morning TV show.

My wife went to the same movies and theatre, but she is a year older than me and we just never met until our early twenties.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

    Happy Sunday everyone!

  15. He doesn't realize yet that when they start giving free food and rooms the winnings are just a short term loan.

quick question. What's the spacing on your net? I used to string mine at 2" but I'm going 4" on this round. Just wondering what you and others did.

    Thanks

  17. Ive used 1.5" personally on a 4x4 frame and it left the spacing a little tight for the strain I was growing but still managed to yield 9 oz offa 1 600w......not bad for my first run.[IMG]

  18. I guess it could be strain dependant. I kept breaking branches at 2" on the last run. Maybe I'm a little rough though. Yield is looking nice though even with all of the broken branches.
