Edibles just dont do anything for me

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by bubblekarma, Jan 9, 2014.

  1. I've tried various edibles over the years, and to be honest, never noticed any high from them. I feel like I'm wasting weed when attempting to make edibles, thus making me less inclined to attempt making them again.

    Edibles that I've tried:
*Brownies with an eighth O of decent quality per full batch (Ate 3 brownies)
*2 Firecrackers with peanut butter and a little less than a gram of AVB per cracker (Ate one, ate 2nd after 1 hr)
*2 Firecrackers with peanut butter and a little less than a gram of decent bud (Ate both one after another)
*Pillsbury cookie from dough. Did this: Took a premade cookie dough blob, cut it in half, sprinkled about a gram of decent bud, put it back together so the dough sandwiched the bud, put some bud on top of the cookie (to mark it as the special one), and bake the cookies according to package directions. (Ate one cookie)
*Friend gave me a piece of homemade candy with weed. Said it fucked her up. (Ate the little piece)

Every single time I've tried the edibles listed above, I literately feel nothing even after 2 hours. What gives? Any advice? Maybe not using enough or good quality of bud?

My grow is just about dried and ready for use, so I would like to figure what it takes to make edibles that will provide me an effect.

  2. I have had the same problem. I have tried a lot of different methods but I never really feel that high. Even when my friend baked brownies for a party and everyone was talking about how high they were feeling, I felt very little. Edibles seem to affect everyone in deifferent ways though. Some people feel it after a half hour, while it takes 2 hours for the high to kick in for other people. And for some people, edibles can last 6 hours or a whole day. I have pretty much just given up on edibles and just think it is a bodily issue that can't be changed

  3. I don't know much about edibles.. I'm pretty sure you need some sort of fat for the thc to absorb into, sprinkling weed on sugary cookie dough definitely won't do anything.

You should try to learn how to make cannabutter, then use that for cooking into brownies or whatever. Instead of just sprinkling weed on shit and "following package directions"

  4. I don't know how you prepared them, but here is a recipe for cookies. You have to make a pot butter (link of how to on web page) before you make the cookies. The reason I gave you a cookie link vs. a brownie link is due to the fact that cookies last longer eg: you can keep them for longer before eating them. This is particularly helpful in your case so you can sell them if you don't like them. I've payed $10 for each cookie I've bought. Just a tip! http://www.smokingwithstyle.com/pot-cooking/crippling-chip-cookies/

It takes about 90 minutes to hit and the trick is use good bud or hash and dont be a jew with the shit put plenty in.

We make cookies that will fuck you up for 5 hours, each one has cannabutter, a gram of good bud and 1/6 a gram of good hash.

Are you sure you are using good product?

  6. Yeah, though I might truly just not be putting enough in. Because I feel like I'm wasting it I have a hard time putting very much bud in them (It's like I could put this all into a batch and it's gone, or I could smoke this and have it last me 2 weeks). But I also don't feel any effects from stuff other people made that apparently worked for other people.

  7.
Agreed, however, there are other recipes (like firecrackers) that allow the THC to bind to other fatty products without extracting and fusing into butter. Basically anything sweet still has lots of fat to bind to. I've never made cannabutter yet, but that should be me next attempt :). I'm not a good cooker/baker though, the kitchen is not my fortay.

  8. I am the same way, I have ate them over 5 times and the only time I was affected was from a 1 brownie out in Co.

Recently my friend got a tubs of good butter, I bought one. I took it first thing on a saturday. Ate the whole thing in one pb&j, stayed up all night and it didn't do shit for me. My other friend bought one to, ate a few spoonfulls and he said he was soo high for the whole day and night. Also some girl had a tiny bit and she said she felt it. All of them would not lie about not feeling it.

I'm done with them, I hate the taste and it's not worth it if they only work 1 out of 5 times.

Good luck in the future anyway!

I hadn't eaten weed in 30 yrs, so I was a bit dubious as to the potency. Last time was in the 1970s & whoever cooked them didn't do a very good job. This time, about 4 months ago, they were something that required a seat-belt! Chocolate-chip cookies & a batch of brownies!! I had never eaten such a great batch of reefer cookies since starting my smoking in the mid-1960s!!
My wife is very sick & these really helped her pain. I have spinal-stenosis & these cookies were just the ticket for staying comfortable...& stoned to the bone!! When ingesting weed, it takes a good hour (more if you have a FULL stomach) to hit you upside the cranium. Plus another 1/2 hour for its FULL effects...at least with me.
I like eating weed, as the buzz stays with you for a LONG time. Eat a couple brownies & I'm good for 6 hrs. Romulan is a good strain for medicinal...a great pain-reliever & has a long buzz(?). Personally, as much as I enjoy eating weed, I still prefer the toking of it. I bought a Toker II in 1974, not long after they hit the market...cost me $7 & it's probably the best smoking apparatus I've owned...40 yrs later & I still have it in 1 piece!! As you can see, this Toker II really needs some sand-blasting. It's been awhile since using it, as the mold & mildew (& whatever else is probably growing in there) isn't getting near my lungs!! :bongin:

2 things if you aren't getting baked from firecrackers - 1.You must decarb your weed. YES it makes a huge difference because you're removing a carbon atom turning it from thc-a (thc-acidic) into just thc (psychoactive). 2. LECITHIN PILLS:  I CANT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THESE ARE.Hellobadkittysmiles I believe is her name online. She recommends them highly. Lecithin or soy lecithin is something that breaks down and helps absorb things into your mucus membrane of your intestinal wall and stomach. Decarb the bud (usually recommended at 220-250 Farenheit for 20 minutes) Check out other posts about decarbing as its a very sensitive subject. Mix with peanut butter and lecithin granules. I even mix a small amount of lard and sesame oil into peanut butter for better absorption. I also use graham crackers for wider surface area and better taste. I wrap each individual firecracker with foil. I cook mine 22 minutes at 320 degrees then immediately put into freezer for at least ten minutes. <---this is directly from the stoner cookbook. To decarb I usually just put my chronic into little "boogers" into tin foil and set on a burner or quesadilla maker similar to george foreman grill. It will smell like your vaping but its just terpines because thc vapes at 350). I leave in small nugs just so i can see if they crumble to dust, then I know Im good. As long as you use good herb, decarb it, and cook right I guarantee you will be too high, and my tolerance is through the roof. It usually takes a few dabs of good chronic to get me high, but one firecracker with a lecithin pill, takes 2-3 hours to hit me, but I get so blowed it burns to blink. :bongin: Hope this helps. This has now encouraged me to smoke less because edibles have a way longer and more intense duration almost like a light dose of fungus.

  12. This thread is old I know, but I have discovered that if I smoke, it raises my tolerance for edibles and vaping. I have to detox myself for a few days and start from scratch on an empty stomach.
