How old do you have to be? All these people here who say they have their medical card, did they actually have the symptoms or did they fake it somewhat? Can you get away with fully faking the symptoms?

I mean I'm 18, though I look 16ish. I can't imagine going to a foreign doctor here and asking for a medical card, I feel like they'd find it outrageous. Like I'm a teenager, what will I really use medical marijuana for?

Don't fake it. I applied for my card at 18, but I looked around 15-16. I have serious ailments (seizures, anxiety). The doctors here in california won't take you seriously unless you bring in a prescription bottle. I suffer from insomnia so I brought in my sleeping pill bottle. I didn't even mention my seizures. My mother also applied for her card but was denied because she didn't have medical documentation or a prescription for the ailment. Seriously, if you have a real problem, go to the doctor first and get that shit sorted out. If your prescription doesn't work, THEN apply for your MMJ card. Don't ruin it for the people who have serious and fucked up illnesses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

(being cynical here).

  4. To be a 215 card holder you need to be 18+, a Cali resident, have the exam $$ and HAVE A LEGIT MEDICAL CONDITION.

  8. Lol I know nobody here will admit it but a lotttttt of people get a medical card because it's easy. And then will later babble about their ailments or whatever. Sucks cuz so many people actually do use and need marijuana medically, so it makes them look worse to society.

  9. Who would blame people for gaming the system when consequences are so stiff. It amaze me how you can abort a child without any medical reasons and yet you need a permit and a legitimate reason to smoke pot.
    P. S. I am not a pro-life or against abortion itself, simply highlighting hypocrisy of high level.

  11. Id like to add normal dr dnt usually prescribe. It was decided by the citizens of states. The american medical association or state dr boards, did not. Yes the proof of all its benefits is obvious. There no money in it for Pharmacutical companies. N that the major controller of how our health system is run. Pot growers arent giving kick backs to drs to prescribe there product either. So anyway u need to find a dr who only prescribes weed for patients. Ironically my first dr i tried, who asked ne to bring proof n crap. Turned out to be illigitimate

You should feel outrageous for asking for a card, if you have to wonder what you will really use it for, or if you have to fake symptoms. I got my card in Canada, at your age (in the past), with ddd, herniated discs, pinched nerves, muscle spasms, cluster headaches, trouble sleeping and eating from the CHRONIC pain all related to one single issue.
Hey OP, I'll trade you my card and symptoms for your non-symptoms and non-card holding abilities.
…..then we wondered why they had to change the MMAR system?

  15. Sucks to be in Canada eh

I wouldn't say it sucks. Nothing like California, that's just awesomeness. But they are pretty lenient when it comes to cannabis, and usually only give a ticket for small amounts (recreational users, smoking in places they shouldn't be). If you have a legitimate problem, then you can most likely get a card. The BIG problem is finding a doctor who is open minded and willing to sign.
Now with the LP's coming in, and law enforcement NOT recognizing MMPR as "legal" in the same sense as the MMAR, things are so out of whack it is ridiculous!

  17. State, i guess province in Canada, regulating it leading to big problems. I here washington and colarado haveing similar issues. The only backlash we suffered, in california, was the loss of all but 2-3 clinics in south cali. Things would still be the same, if every1 and their grandma didnt open a dispencery. Some citys had a liquor store then a clinic on every block, almost. I think there one of the last clinics in san francisco also. everyone uses delivery service now. Clinic comes to you, literally. Pluss most have pic n menues on weedmaps.com. Thank god i live in cali.

  18. That got me reminiscing now. It was cool with the clinics. Every clinic had a new patient hook up. There where so many clinics, you could go to a different one, each time you got empty

  19. So if you don't have a doctor you go to for routine check ups and other stuff, can you still go to a medical marijuana doctor and get a card? I've been searching and some websites say you can, others say to opposite.
