Harold & Kunar = Jay and Silent Bob > Cheech & Chong for me, their movies are too stereotypical for me.
Cheech and Chong are too stereotypical? For me they created the stereotypes because they're the first stoners I saw on TV that I was aware of. But if i'm going to be honest Harold and Kumar are my favourites.
That's why I can't get into them, as much as I love them as people, the movies are not something I think to watch while smoking. Or sober.
Cheech and Chong are legends; their films are classic. First real stoners on tv. Harold and Kumar come next. Sent from my [Gold] iPhone 5S
When you compare antics, Jay and Silent Bob arent that big of a Stoner duo, atleast not stereotypically, like Cheech and Chong or Harold and Kumar. They only ever got one movie dedicated to themselves, which though was very stoner, theres kinda the big thing that Silent Bob only ever was shown smoking cigarettes, and was actually the brains of the group, while Jay was the cock and balls, and a little bit of taint for good measure. In other view askew films, they arent really portrayed very much as stoners, apart from being dealers. Clerks they just seemed like teenagers Mallrats, teenagers once again Chasing Amy, they were on film for like 3 minutes so you couldnt really draw much Dogma, they were shown as random guys, who just happened to be in Wisconsin at the right time and place. Strike Back, we finally got to see them in a more stoner light, but as I said above, it wasnt much of one. Clerks 2, they were shown as recovered "addicts", just kinda being extra comedic relief

I missed the Cheech and Chong generation (old enough to be here... but not by much) so I'd have to say Jay and Silent Bob are my favorite. The two Clerks movies are fantastic, and Strikes Back was pretty solid too.
Jay and Silent Bob are hilarious. Harold and Kumar are pretty funny as well. Haven't even seen cheech n chong
