Morning, thanks for asking! My grow room is quite interesting. It's above head and I have an access hatch that I drop down to access the room. It's located in a tall storage closet that had built in shelving and what I did was just put in a false ceiling with a drop down access hatch ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387567097.084000.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387567332.100409.jpg I can't get a picture of the whole room because of its shape but I've got two T5 fixtures up one for vegging/clones/seeds and one for budding. I've also got a HPS 1000 watt and I've covered all the walls in space blankets (when I have for money I think I'll rebuild the grow room to better fit all my equipment. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387567654.317358.jpg In the ceiling of the grow room I have attic access where I will vent my carbon filter. The attic vents to the exterior of the house and I've go t 1.5 acres so hopefully nobody will be able to smell them.I started off by germinating 4 seeds 3 of which made it to the seedling stage at which point I germinated another set of 5, 4 of which survived and are currently seedlings with first sets of real leaves. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387568146.116945.jpg You can see in that picture I've got 3 plants that are soon to be in vegetative growth while the others are still little tiny seedlings. This last picture was takin this morning of the bushiest of all my plants so far. You can see some discoloring of the leaves and I'm not sure exactly what's causing the issue but I'm worried about. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387568388.817182.jpg I will keep adding information as time permits, if you know what could be discoloring the leaves please let me know so far it's only affecting two of my plants, the bad part is they are the most mature of my plants. I need to take corrective action so I don't lose them but I don't know what the issue is.Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  4. Nice set up, are you able to keep it cool enough?

It's difficult to make out the discoloration in the pictures. How often have you been watering/feeding and what soil? The plants are looking good, I doubt any major harm has come to them. Might just want to keep a close eye on them. Have you been checking the pH of the soil/water?

Last post wasn't clear on the leaf discoloration so I'm posting separately to clarify on that.Yesterday on one of my plants I noticed these discolored spots forming on a few of the leaves. I don't know what causes it or what could cause it. Here is a picture of the first plant I noticed forming these spots ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387569449.168709.jpg My T5lights I try to keep about an inch away from the tallest plant. I transplanted my bigger plant yesterday and this morning when I check them she was also forming the spots. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387569631.184788.jpg I'm highly concerned with these. A friend told me to pluck those leaves off and keep plugging and chugging but I'm not really comfortable pulling leaves off these babies and I really don't have time to just start over so I need to correct whatever is causing this issue. Other than that I think my plants look healthy. What do you think?I'm using Fox Farm OF and I started my plants on an 18/6 schedule but have recently upped it to 21/3 because I heard it would grow faster I didn't want to do 24 because I feel like it does need some dark period. I haven't used any nutes but one mistake I may have made was I when I transferred pots I watered them directly from the faucet which comes from our water tank and it had some chlorine in it. I soaked them when I transplanted them too so maybe the chlorine is bothering them. Any recommendations of fixing that now? I usually let the water sit out for 2-3 days but I read I was really supposed to soak the soil during transplanting. Any ideas on fixing that? Or was something else the culprit? If so what other possibilities are there?Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

I would like to do organic growing but I'll have to wait till spring when the garden shops open back up. I have been overwatering for sure. I didn't realize that the plants like to dry out completely so I was watering everyday small amounts but everyday. I assume it's better if water once every 2-3 days? Does that sound right... The room is actually in the garage which isn't heated. I live in Alaska so it naturally stays cool. I haven't got far enough to flower and use my HPS bulb so this summer I'll have to make sure there is lots of airflow. Thanks for responding... I've kinda went overboard with pictures today (I'm trying to make up for lost grow journal time). Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  8. Grow room pictures. Here is the drop down hatch ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387581797.007005.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387581864.706397.jpg Here is where I plan to flower ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387588232.519887.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387588337.553674.jpg Here you can see one of my T5 fixtures and then you can kind of see the HPS bulb off to the side. I have it hanging not completely vertical but not horizontal either. I plan on only running the HPS for 4-6 hours a day as supplemental energy for budding. To save on electric and to prevent over heating but still give it a-little more than just fluorescent. Opinions? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387588707.303474.jpg Here is my carbon filter it will stay on the half of the room that will have my flowers. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387588832.570088.jpg Here is the side of the room I will Veg, clone and all that fun stuff. You can see the attic access in the ceiling which is where I will vent my carbon filter. Overall the biggest issue I'm going to have is separating the flowering light from the vegging light and vice versa. I'm thinking about using a tarp to divide the room in half. I'm not sure if it will work in which case I may have to veg elsewhere.. I'm hoping I can make this work because it needs to be stealthy. Any ideas for separation? What do you think overall about the set up? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

I got home from work just now and my plants are looking even worse now... I think. The lower branches (most of which have the discolored spots are starting to droop. Unless that's just what they do as they become taller. Here's a picture ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387597013.654996.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1387597067.504662.jpg This morning all the branches had nice sturdy leaves that faced a more upwards/upright positions and now the leaves have just fallen over. I'm kind of worried about it. Maybe it's nothing and it's just the way the leaves fall as it focuses on making new leafs. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  11. Well.. Your soil might not be ok for seedlings. I didn't read it yet but what are you using?*Christmas Eve *DreamQueen* Harvest*"Leafy's Ever Changing Indoor Grows"

And it costs 150 for a quarter (about a months supply for me) so you could see why a personal grow would be much cheaper. Haha so here I am. First shot at it! Hope they don't die on me! 17. Howdy Chief D
Nice looking plants bro. I have a couple of thoughts on that yellowing. chlorine in the water just that one time? Top dress with some ewc and water it in. That will help build up the microbes again.
I'm going to sub to your grow and follow along.

Awesome! Thanks! I've also been doing some research and I think they're also overwatered. I'm hoping they will be back to great in just a few days without water. The chlorine was just the one time and I don't really know how much chlorine was in there. I don't think it was much. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  19. If I have a discolored damaged leaf I remove it. It doesn't hurt the plant to remove a damaged leaf now and then. Something I noticed when I was using Fox Farm dirt. it can be a little hot for younger plants. some would yellow a bit and stall but then they would come out of it after a few days and grow normally. shut up Marv!
