Mother songs?

Hey everyone, I've decided that for Christmas, I want to make my mother a mix cd of various mother songs or songs just referencing someone's mother. I know of a few that are already in my library but would like some more suggestions.

When I'm done with the list I was going to print out the lyrics to each song and make it into a little cd booklet. So links to lyrics following the song suggestions would be appreciated.

My mom's hooked on pills, somas, tramadol, percs, xanax(sometimes), and every once in a while when shes around her sistser, heroin and crack(her sisters idea, she just does it because its there) and she smokes cigs. She has the worst fucking lungs ever, had two hip replacements and every since then she has just been sitting around the house, taking pills, sleeping, eating, and hanging out with her sister and my brother (who's hooked on hard drugs too).

so I'd like this list to be all about her/moms. but at the same time i want to get a message out there. or at least wake her ass up. I want her to quit all the pills, although she needs most for her hip pain. but she believes the pills give her "energy" and always take a crap load. A months worth of somas (idk the original name, she just calls them somas) which is about 60 I think could be gone in a week max. She had 200 pills of something once and took them all in a week or so.
 
she gets to a point where she is slipping in and out of sleep. hands shake violently. she comes to the dinner table and takes minutes to just take a bite of something. and half the time the food falls off the spoon/fork. it's really sad to see and everyone is upset with her over it. she says she'll stop, but she's been telling me that for years now. 


I'd really like to say I've given up on her, but I haven't, and I wont. I feel like I'm the only one who will be able to get her out of the hole she's dug herself. 

So if anyone has any good songs, or struggling in hard time songs, or pill abusing songs, please post them up. It would mean a lot to me right now!

 

She doesn't keep up with music...like....ever...

When she was into music it was Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Shaggy, Fleetwood Mac, and all the good old music.

But I can get her to listen to rap, and anything but metal basically. 

If she can follow along (not too fast) and can understand it (not too rappy/slang) then I'm sure she'll enjoy it.

I tried doing it one other xmas, of just songs she liked and it didn't turn out well...only listened to it a few days.


but i feel like this one will be different...might be making it a two disc thing haha

we dont get along well either. she just acts childish a lot. and has a poor sense of humor thats somewhat humorous.
