  1. In our area there is a great place for bulk compost and/or a compost/sifted soil mix. The compost is $14 a yard and the mix is $12 IIRC. It's what I used in my veggie garden and they are thriving. I now have it cooking off as a base for my super soil. I've paid more than $15 for the bag of FFOF, what is that, a cu ft and a half maybe?

I put a bunch of 5 gallon buckets in my pick-up bed so when it gets dumped it's already packed and easy to carry :)

This is what I'm growing in their mix with only a little neem cake added to it. They guys there are really nice and sympathetic to the cause.

edit: I just looked at the pic closer and noticed it's about a week old. The corn now is taller then the fence and the tomatoes are overflowing their cages. It's madness :)

Can I ask where you get this compost?

Edit: disregard that replied before I scrolled down more. Lol looks like some great compost. I just started a garden area in this patch of dirt I have but the "compost" I got still had leaves and such in it looked more like mulch and smelled like swamp water. Won't be any use til next year I'll test out some extra bean plants I have see if they grow. If not I'll just mix in more manure and such for next year.
