PC players welcome the new GC Steam Group!
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Grasscityblades

It is becoming difficult to find PC players in many of the crossplatform game threads. To avoid being drownded out from the console players I have made this thread. Leave your Steam ID or IDs or any PC gaming application such as Origin's or Ubisoft.

Use this thread to talk Steam, games, specs, hardware, squading up or anything game, social and PC related.

Keep this thread alive guys. Build the group up. I decided the best way to keep the thread updated despite edit time would be a pastebin. Leave your Steam/Origin/Uplay/Whatever ID's and I will keep a list in the OP.

  10. Pi11sBuryJoeBoy, i have a pretty modest steam libaray of like 12 games, most of which are single player but if i had some cool people to toke with and play games like Civ5 or charily id be all over that. My core group of gaming friends are all Hopefully MLG COD players so its not easy getting them to put the controller down.

We have a group of 4-5 we run with regularly. I messaged you the other day to see if you wanted to run. I couldn't find your steam name through the search so post your steam page if you can. Feel free to PM me your skype, that's what we meetup on normally but we are always on steam regardless.

Come on guys! We have 1000+ views, 12 posts and 5 members! Please join the steam group guys. If that's too much friend me and I will add you manually. I see people looking for people to squad up with every page of every thread and I even went out to get us a sticky, let's get this shit rolling!

Just reclocked to 4.7GHz, I was amazed to find out I could push past 5.0. 4.9 was my peak for stability but it ran hot and would need constant monitoring. I tuned it down to 4.4 to run extra cool but decided to stick to the sweat spot which I found to be 4.7. I may however try playing around with setting Core 0-1 to modify 48 and run core 2 at 47 and core 3 at 46-47 to squeeze out a little extra juice.

I'm interested in overclocking my RAM though I hear it doesn't improve performance in a way that is noticeable for gaming.

If anyone happens to be running a GTX 780 or even a 770 and has it OC'ed or flashed a new BIOS to is let me know, I have some card specific questions. Otherwise if someone could me a rundown of GPU Clock Offset and (GPU) Memory Offset it would be appreciated. I've been increasing the clock offset in increments of 15 until I see artifacts and that tends to work however I can't find that sweet spot. I don't understand Memory offset at all and when I play around with it I tend to crash.

  15. Steam: SOFGrylls (the one with the pic of bear grylls)Mainly play warthunder, rising storm/red orchestra 2 ( i highly recommend this game) and i have a lot more games

ram speed does not matter much for gaming unless you have an integrated gpu. Corsair made claims that faster ram increased performance in BF4 but since that claim was made i haven't been able to find any benchmarks other than theirs to prove it. They do sell a lot of high speed ram so it could be they were just trying to boost sales but i have no proof of this either.

As far as oc'ing a gpu goes what programs are you using to oc and stress test? I use MSI Afterburner and FurMark. What i'll do first is run a short 5 min stress test on furmark to see where my temps are at, if they're below 80C then i'll increase the voltage. in afterburner you unlock the voltage on the card and use the slide to increase it by a tiny increment (make sure power limit is set to 100 also) then i'll go back into furmark and stress test and repeat until i hit around 80-85C, then i know ill hit the voltage limit that i'm personally comfortable with so that i can OC the card as much as possible. You can also play with the fan speed so that the card runs cooler and you can increase the voltage limit though there will be a major increase in noise the higher you go, i limited my card to 45% fan speed. From there i just increased the clock speed by increments of 10-20 mhz and stress test (btw i don't use furmark for this "stress" test but instead i play the most intense game i own anywhere from 30-60 mins, so it does take a while) until it starts showing signs of instability. Then i do the same for the memory clock. Then you just save it to a profile and when you're not gaming just run stock and when you are then you can just switch on your OC settings. Different people have different opinions on how to do it but that's how i personally OC my cards.

you do know there's already a gc group with 264 members, right?

and for some reason i can't seem to find your group through steam :(

    edit: nvm. found it!

    P.S. - steam name = Puke on cops :p

  19. We wanted to create a new GC group because the last one has been dead for years. It's an attempt to keep an active community.

  20.
What Chocobo said, I searched through GC and it no activity and the group had been inactive since 08-09. It's a new generation of gaming and GC and figured a fresh start would be better than trying to revive a dead group which would be impossible without admin privileges.
